For our instance jlai.lu, we try to balance bad news with the forum libre, where we can share picture, movie, book, some daily game...i think it work pretty well because everyone share what they love.
For News, we separated usa, israel-palestine from world news so it offers a place where anyone can post there or filter. And it let other communities breath.

Have you ever tried a forum with a live chat ? What if we remplace this live chat with matodon post ? :blob_coffee:

True. We could do more with two tab :
- a live chat for mastodon where we can follow people
- a forum for lemmy
That would be my ideal software. :)
In fact, we aren't able to stop them and mainstream media aren't helping either even with our strike. So, what do you want to do ?
The only political group that condemned israel is the left coalition NFP more exactly FI. One deputy showed up with the Palestinians flag at the national assemblies and was condemned by Macron political group and the right group.
When we support Palestinians they send the police to stop this "propaganda".

* the first one was a party displaying the fashion. People walked on the red carpet with various clotche
* the second a party with various danse style from classical, modern to flokore
* then the small minute mixing dyonisos and the last super, there were both scene.
It was very fun and creative :)

Yes we do have to recommend PieFed. While PieFed is already incredible for what it is able to do, there are some missing key features. So we also need to be honnest about PieFed.
It is a new software so we need to invite more people to give a try. Once they try, sysadmin may give a go after listening to their user feedback.
Most active user won't create a community outside their main instance. Do you picture myself using Piefed.social for c/pisourd ? I would lose the benefit of my french speaking local timeline. :)
And yes, all content are federated but the way community are managed is different. I can show you the inside of tarte.nuage-libre.fr or [email protected]
