Was in south Ontario, the sky was clear for about an hour before totality, and then about 15 minutes before, a big dark cloud came in and ruined it.

A) That's not a Hyundai. It's AI bullshit.

B) That's not even the FORM FACTOR for a Palisade.

Just so tired of almost every time a doctor submits stuff to insurance, we have to be the ones to make multiple phone calls to both the doctor's office and insurance to iron everything out, figure out what the issue is (it's always a different issue), and basically be the go-between for the office and insurance. What am I paying $500+/month for?! It's like paying for the privilege of having an exhausting part-time job.

And yes, I understand that insurance wants to weasel out of paying anything, but this isn't even shadiness, just straight up incompetence and lack of communication/following procedures. The amount of emotional energy we have to spend untangling this stuff leaves us drained.

For context, I’m on an iPhone using Firefox. I can’t use uBlock Origin, but am ready to block on the DNS level after this.

Should I also tip the delivery driver, and the person who made the product?

Raising this dead article as Microsoft now delivers extended support pricing details for those who choose not to migrate to the newer version of Windows. The one they were told they'd not ever have to migrate to

Waiting for 30 minutes to access the Web site of the Road Safety Authority, the Irish equivalent of the DMV. Too bad they don't have physical offices where I could queue personally...

Please do not give me shit for using Facebook. It's how I keep in touch with relatives, most of whom live abroad, and my brother, who is has ASD prefers to communicate with me that way.

I would rather not use it, but I would prefer keeping in touch with my brother.

That said, I would not let AI keep in touch with my brother for me.

I -was- going to find a community who might help me with my problem, but then I found this place and it's obviously much more constructive to bitch about it than to actually try to fix it. Shame on me for not seeing that right away.

So my HDD died on me, and after some fussing around I ordered a shiny new replacement. So after waiting for the mailman like a proper doggo, I installed my shiny new toy, booted my pc and... on of my monitors now doesn't work.

I don't know why. I tried a new hdmi-cable, I tried a new monitor. my 2nd monitor works perfectly. I updated my drivers and tried a handstand. nothing. For the rest my pc works fine. The new hard disk works like a charm. But why doesn't my monitor work? If I fix it, will my mouse stop working?

I will still chill and play games tonight, but I will be mildly furiously staring at the black screen next to it every chance i get.

Thin Car Paint (lemmy.sdf.org)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I bought my first new car about a month ago. I found out car manufacturers basicaly put only 1 or 2 coats of paint on cars these days, so that if you even look at the car wrong, it will scratch and you'll have to take it in for touch up.

So I'm gonna do that, but then also shell out for PPF on the doors, fenders, and hood. When I shouldn't have to, and never worried about on my older cars.

I just got a bill for a Wayfair credit card that was issued by Citi bank that I did not apply for. I never even shopped on that website.

I tried contacting both Citi bank and Wayfair, but since I don't have the full account number, I couldn't get past Citi's automated phone menu.

Wayfair's phone system was a fucking nightmare getting transferred to various departments, but eventually transferred me to a foreign call center where they insisted that they needed my social security number and birth date to file a report, but I'm not giving them that.

The best thing is that the scammer managed to get a higher credit limit than I was able to get on my own card.

Thankfully, it was not the only place in town to get a jigsaw puzzle, but it was the only Minnesota-themed gift shop to buy jigsaw puzzles. (This is not relevant.)

Essentially the apps have same package name but different signatures and the app store that installed it should be the only one to recognize and update it.

But Google is likely trying this dark pattern to sway people away from F-Droid or alt stores by making users uninstall these apps and install it from the Google Play Store.

It's been going on for a while and is annoying af.
