Tesla market cap is US$ 1.3 Trillion in comparison to regular car manufacturer it's ridiculously high

The world leader Toyota has like market cap of 45 billions and other big manufacturer reach similar value. The only exception being the other leading brand on electric car "BYD" with a market cap of 750 billions.

However, even assuming that Tesla stays the leader of electric car, how would it make it more valuable that let's say Toyota. Especially now that "many of the person who can invest the price of an appartment in a fancy car" did switch to electric, and that the electric market needs to develop the cheap and compact urban car for middle-class person who can't afford a car above 20 thousands euros (Because to be realistic the era of 10 000 EUR car is over)

I simply can't understand how Tesla market valuation is so high

Feel this is a dumb question that probably has a dozen easy solutions, but I'm stumped. Watched a couple of videos, but those were for catching overpopulated insects and it's too damn cold right now any, nothing even under the rocks.

For the first time in life I have roaches I cannot beat. Always been easy, clean well, lay down boric acid, rinse and repeat when the last round of babies gets loose. Done. These fuckers have plagued me for a couple of years now.

Got a pet chameleon for my birthday. First reptile! Started in on breeding crickets in another tank, but this is also a first and will take months.

See where I'm going with this?

My desk vivarium is rocking with roly polys and I just dropped 20 crickets. I'm feeding them store-bought bug food that I mix and freeze into chunks. I'm thinking I could bait the roach traps with that, but hell, anything should do, right?

Even if/when I run out of roaches, I need a way to harvest the bugs from the desk tank.

Ideas? Something they will crawl in easily, but can't get back out?

When I look at the kinds of articles people post on social media and the comments under them, it feels like there’s an overwhelming amount of hate and anger in the world - or at least among the people posting and commenting. (Maybe it’s just that non-angry people don’t spend much time in this kind of spaces.)

In contrast, when I think about my own life, I realize that I’m almost never angry. I feel many other negative emotions, sure, but anger isn’t one of them, and even when it arises it's usually quite short-lived. I can’t even name a single person I hate - neither in my personal life nor in the media. I simply don’t spend time dwelling on people I’m not interested in or being angry at the world for not meeting my expectations.

This makes me wonder: is my experience rare or unusual? Or is hate and anger simply overrepresented in the media because those emotions motivate people to engage, making them seem far more widespread than they actually are?

I'm trying to understand rather than criticize. I can't take credit for not being angry because whatever tha skill is doesn't translate into other things like anxiety. I'm anxious about equally trivial things and I can't help myself. I guess I'm just glad I don't need to deal with this constant anger too.

I got one of those stupid cool mist humidifiers because it was on sale (and top fill). Now I've noticed a little bit of black goop. With my summer time dehumidifier I just dump in some Hydrogen peroxide and call it a day.

If I just dump some H2O2 in my humidifier with the ultrasonic do dad just blast it to bits? Am I about to make diet mustard gas? Should I just buy the bullet and replace it with one that steals the badies out?

So, if the Chinese don't have an alphabet and use only pictograms comprising of over 6500 characters, how do they type on a keyboard? Do they have really large keyboards with over 6500 keys or do they just say "Screw Mandarin" and type in English (which can't be true because I've seen Chinese characters on webpages/spam emails)? Is there some kind of algorithmic key pressing magic that goes on in order to produce said characters?

On Lemmy is it usually safe to create ones own community to post their own stuff on a smaller scale when there are other communities already available of the same topic? Or should we just go to the larger communities. To reduce spam. I feel like one side to this is obvious and the the other side is, to create communities to increase competition.

Jim makes The Muppet Show in the 1970's, shaping the show as a vaudeville comedy act. Meanwhile, Jim gets experience seeing the first season of Saturday Night Live up close and sees Lorne running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to put on a show using live actors.

Obviously, Kermit is a self insert character of Jim himself. But, could Jim have included a bit of Lorne into Kermit at the time to portray a show runner at wits end due to his cast?

So I'm European and am aware that American culture is very different in many ways. Idk if this is just some type of thing about American culture and mentality in general that has always been there or if it is a trend that started recently in the past few years.

I don't wanna generalize any country and know that not everyone is like this but I definitely noticed this type of pattern.

I increasingly noticed in the past years that many Americans are very hateful/cruel, are lacking empathy, become more and more aggressive and it seems like it’s becoming worse.

I'm not sure if this is maybe related to Americans needing to be "though" or something because I always hear about that the American mentality is pretty competitive and individualistic and instead of saying "we will go through this this together" they often have this mentality "it's either me or you but it can't be both who will win". I mean I'm pretty sure that all these things like this biking culture, driving big "manly" pick up trucks, wrestling, football etc. are pretty prevalent in America compared to other countries and American culture generally seems very loud and direct. I think here in Europe people are way more reserved and I guess the strongest opposite to Americans are probably Japanese people. Maybe American culture is generally more "rough" where they aren't super sensitive and don't really care how their words come over and just speak their mind (maybe cause they value free speech so much).

But to me this seems to go to the point where many Americans seem to have this attitude and are very ignorant and arrogant and basically think they're better than anyone else and they only care for themselves.

And it feels like it's so extreme to the point where everyone is hating, attacking and bashing on everyone and instead of being stronger united they're just fighting against themselves and putting each other down and they always focus on the negative.

Especially online it seems like that no matter what the topic is and independent from whether they are Democrat or Republican they're constantly bashing on someone and baselessly calling them "weak" even though in reality they're probably the ones who are weak and trample onto people cause they're obviously dissatisfied with themselves and aren't able to man-up to face the real issues. You just can't blame everything on others and have to take responsibility for yourself!

Some stuff that I've seen on American news like "Fox News" just seemed crazy where the reporters personally attack and bash on people which is something that would be unthinkable in Europe.

Even though many people were saying that Americans have this "fake friendliness" I'm thinking that even that disappeared in the last few years and they're becoming more open to show what they really think which seems to be that they "don't give a f* about you".

Many Americans that I encountered seem so aggressive like they always need to bash onto something in this toxic way even though they're actually in a very good position and have a lot to be grateful for. Like in other poor countries people have real problems and are literally starving because they have no food or they have war in their country.

I'm always thinking "dude, you need to chill" cause literally no one is attacking them and they're fully secure. But it seems like they're always searching for a fight or something.

It seems like many of these people are so disconnected from nature and become less human and I wonder why they can't just spend meaningful time with other people being positive and not constantly waste their time with hating or complaining about something. Because this just doesn't work and in a society with multiple people especially in a world where everything is more connected than ever we need to hold together and have empathy for one and another. That is one of the core morals that a human needs!

It seems like many Americans generally have this "cruelness" about them cause I also heard things that many Americans are physically beating their children and even the fact that guns are popular and legal in America to the point where you can't even safely walk alone in public during the night or safely send your kid to school and also this general mindset of America is doing everything the best and "America first". I really don't wanna bash on Americans at all and only want to share my experience because I just haven't experienced this type of hate here in Europe in that extreme way and it just makes me very uncomfortable because I feel like this mood is affecting the whole world since American media and influence is prevalent everywhere.

To me it feels like this won't end well and it feels like it's just a matter of time until something very bad happens like the second civil war or so and the storm on the capitol might be nothing compared to that. But maybe that's the only way they will finally learn if they're lacking these core morals and integrity and they don't get educated about that in school.

It also seems like they can't handle critique and can't admit it/stand to those things. When I once asked a similar question on Reddit the only thing I got back was bashing and personal attacks and I hope it's not the same here, cause that is literally just proving my point. There needs to be constructive discussions.

This kinda sounds stupid, but everyone I've looked up say "grab CPU by the sides and take out". Thing is, the CPU is in the socket, the sides are surrounded by the socket "walls", I can't exactly grab the sides.

I mean, kinda same thing for putting CPU in, but for putting it in, I can just let go a bit above, and have it fall down into the socket.

Maybe this motherboard is like that, and other motherboard are different, but I don't know.

The only thing I can grab is the heatsink (which you apply thermal paste to) on the top, but I can't get a good grip on it.

I can keep grabbing and pull the CPU to the side on top, but I might bend a few pins doing that.

This is AM5 socket btw.

Edit: I built this PC from parts, I put the CPU in, so I know I have to remove the cooler and pull the lever up.

some people trigger me so easily it's scary. Most of them are loud, lazy coworkers that somehow piss me off very easily.

Is this a normal reaction to morons?

it's not like I want to punch them, I'm simply relaxed and work better when I don't have to see them. They slow me down.

I'm not a programmer, so I can't really do it myself. Is it allowed for me to go to some random dude, pay him 20 bucks to write the code, then have him add it to the GitHub?

(If you're wondering what the app/feature is, I want to be able to shuffle play on the findroid app like you would be able to on the jellyfin web interface )

Wouldn't be a bad idea to do space mining to create products on earth on the long therm?

Does not hose minerals have weight and could change earth net mass and therefore it's orbit?

Could also impacts on landing alter earth orbit?

This question arraised when reading this other question about mining in space from in this sub: [https://lemmy.world/post/24125154](What is currently holding us back from mining in space?)

Maybe it's something in UI, but many times I watch pictures (not even videos, they are their own can of worms), and want to save them, it shows me that I'm downloading them again although they are cached in whatever app I see them from.

Like this link with a happy dog: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/71/1e/52/711e52f1d6c7ead78f4380214f68c259.jpg

I see it in high rez in my browser, I can zoom in, and I can't tell any difference from a copy that I can download, but it's still, well, another download if I want to save it, and not a move from cache to my download folder, another request to the server, another waste of traffic.

Is there some rule of sandboxing for everything you load that I don't know about? In cases like our fediverse, I wouldn't like to cause double load when I already have the picture I want. Can I cut it down with some plugin in mobile Firefox?

I feel like I'm missing something big time.

As an Asian American (Chinese Ancestry), I rarely have interactions with law enforcement, except that one school fight which I got arrested because I defended myself against a bully, which I still resent them for (both the law enforcement and school administration). This in a blue city btw. While the cops never physically done anything like torture or anything, getting held at the police station for a few hours felt like psychological torture. I was just wondering, would my experience have been worse if I were some other race? (I mean like: if I were black, would I have gotten beaten by the cops?)

And also, how (in general) are Asian Americans treated compared to other racial groups?

(Asking because, again, I rarely had any interactions with law enforcement, and am just curious)
