In all honesty I think a real Trump supporter made the image.

I'm not sure that Trump needs defending from claims that he made up some fake, crass, self-serving lie involving a church, though, even if this particular one wasn't him, so I'm not sure why everyone's so cross with me for entertaining the possibility.

Maybe it's because I made fun of some of his supporters for wearing diapers in support of him, but I think it's exactly the sort of idiotic behaviour that's worth calling out.

Perhaps it's because I said Trump helps stupid racist xenophobic misogynists feel good about all that by being their shining beacon in the nighttime of people annoyingly asking them to be considerate and polite, but I'm not sure being considerate and polite to such folk has got us very far in dissuading them.

What's called thinking?

Edited. Criticised a mode of debate rather than an individual.

Republicans think misgendering people is all fun and games until it happens to them.

Republicans think denying women healthcare if they miscarry it's a good plan until it happens to their loved ones.

Republicans think that having an abortion is a decision full of hate and evil until their daughter wants one.

Republicans think that having active shooters in schools is a mildly unfortunate consequence of important gun freedoms until it happens in their children's schools.

But also republicans are surprised and hurt that their good republican friends aren't supportive when they are the victim of republican behaviour and politics.

"It's not a problem unless it's happened to me" is why people are right wing. It's being self absorbed turned into a political movement for the advancement of shareholder profits.

Thank you for this.

Excellent. Enjoy.

I've edited it to make it more factual and perhaps less emotive by replacing the phrase "republican troll" with "republican pretending to be left leaning" and provided a link to where they replied "cope" when I pointed this out to them previously. I don't know if you can see the reply, it won't expand for me, but I promise you that's what it said. I don't know whether you count arguing in bad faith just to persuade your political opponents not to vote as trolling, but I certainly feel it's not good behaviour and worth pointing out to folks who are taken in.

It's everything to do with it. Read some of the other replies.

He really grew on me over time.

Only in order to pursuade folks not to vote democratic (which is bizarre because Trump and his party are pretty rabidly on favour of "finish them" outcomes in Gaza).

Link: https://lemmy.world/comment/12097015 I can only see the reply "cope" in my inbox. On the website the 1 more reply never expands for me.

It gets used online for things, and there are whole communities devoted to shitposting, but I can't find a clear set of rules for something to count as a shitpost. I remember querying whether a post on a shitposting community was witty enough to be a shitpost rather than just a shitty post, but of course not all the responses to that were terribly helpful!
