While I've not tried this yet, and won't eb able for a while it does sound like this would be possible. Quite the cool tech. Not sure about your last part of your question unfortunately. Probs best to follow their forums for this.

That's a pretty good achievement!

Yeah exactly what happened, i was on my lan thinking WAN IP meant it was public - it was not :P

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

Yeah ur right, i was on my LAN and thats why it worked. I only assumed because I was accessing it via my WAN IP it was 'automatically' public.

No I wasnt.. just realised this, thats a great relief really. Was afraid it had been publicly available all this time.

Ah yeah you're right, i can only access this interface if I am on my LAN. Tried with hotspot now and it doesn't "load" - so thats good.

No, Apple isn't your guardian angel with the press of a button.

There is a pretty good deal atm on this headset and been thinking about getting my first wireless headset for a while. Am curious about how it runs on Linux, as I've seen some controversy on this headset on website that shall not be named, but that was 3 years ago now. I dont expect to be running their propriety software for equalizing sound - but would like to know if the headset performs as it should out of the box and if the additional sound system works well. If anyone has any experience with this i'd be more than happy to hear about it. Other headset recommendations welcome to (wireless though) :)

This game is about a scientist uses a unique teleportation instrument to escape an ancient biomechanical world filled with imaginative technology, deadly traps, and hidden secrets.

Highly recommend watching the trailer for this game.

Hi there, am looking for a new and powerful laptop that can handle music production quite well, but am not sure what to get. So far I've understood that its important for this laptop to have:

  • 32GB RAM (DDR5 preferably)
  • Top-notch processor
  • Good graphic card
  • at least 1TB of SSD Storage, planning on buying external ssd later.

Anyone have any good recommendations for this? The budget is around 2,250 USD / 2,137 EUR.

Thought I'd share this i recently came across, while not strictly a game per se - its still on steam and might be a nice find for people into these sorts of productivity apps. Game is made by an original lofi artist called Blue Turtle, who makes some really good and relaxing lofi mixes.

Ithya: Magic Study is a cozy background app combined with productivity tools. Customize your room and relax with lofi or fantasy playlists in beautiful, hand-drawn environments. Perfect for a focused or creative session in a magical world.

Here's some features:

  • no ads
  • offline, no loading time
  • new music and art
  • included timer, task list
  • endless loop
  • can choose the weather to fit your mood
  • gamification (capture Elementals and personalize your room)

It will be released at the beginning of 2025!

Their terminal will now be functional offline, as terminals should be...

For those of us hit by the recent announcement here is a graph I found with some other services worth checking for your next voyages. I have crossed out All-Debrid too as that is also hosted in France and is bound to be hit by the same hammer as Real-Debrid was.

Feel free to share your alternative solutions in the comments below, but always do you research carefully!

The graph shows which Debrid services are supported by each addon for Stremio. Torbox seems to be a new popular and modern alternative. If anyone has any experience with any of the listed services then feel free to share your experiences in the comments.

Edit: Debrid-Link is also French!

Source to graph: https://guides.viren070.me/stremio/faq?debrid-service=real-debrid#which-debrid-services-are-supported-by-each-addon

Is there a place to view the status of this service and or to view updates from it?

Hi there folks!

I've used Linux for a good while now, but have no idea how to troubleshoot the current issues I'm having with my laptop at work. Let's begin.

The laptop at hand is a HP EliteBook 845 14inch Notebook G10. A standard work laptop, with Windows pre-installed from It. This PC is "new" in the sens that I just got it from IT.

Laptop specs:

  • CPU: AMD ryzen 5 7540U
  • GPU: Radeon 740M Graphics
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Kernel: 6.11.6-2-default

Other notable settings:

  • fast boot off
  • secure boot off
  • have encrypted the drive

FYI: These issues have been the same across multiple distros and DEs. I've tried, Bluefin, Aurora, Red Hat Workstation and now running OpenSuse Tumbleweed (KDE+Wayland).

The issues:

  1. The first noticeable issues were that the laptop fans are considerable louder when running Linux. I assume there is some preinstalled HP software to control this on windows, as they are completely silent on windows, but constantly noticeable on Linux.

  2. The second issue at hand is that the USB-C port doesn't seem to charge the laptop properly. The laptop randomly dies after being on for a while WITH THE CHARGER PLUGGED IN. Very odd. This happens with both normal charger and the office charger (which is also the connection to external screen).

  3. Waking up from sleep is a terrible experience. The pc makes everything super slow and laggy. Opening a single application can take up to multiple minutes. The PC has to be restarted for this to be fixed. This happens on both X11 and Wayland.

  4. Connection to external monitor also seems to be causing issues and slowing the system down. Especially after pc has been in sleep mode.

These are the main issues I've ran into in only a couple of days trying Linux on this laptop and I don't know what the causing issue is, or if the laptop simple isn't 'made' to run Linux(?).

Would highly appreciate any tips or troubleshooting tips for this. Would love to be able to run Linux on the work laptop!

Edit 1: Now trying Ubuntu, so far so good! Will keep post updated.

Edit 2: Ubuntu seems to do well with this hardware/laptop.
