The TV series Earth: Final Conflict, made by Gene Roddenberry, had a story based on this premise:-).

They ran across a race of super-advanced aliens in the Delta Quadrant that were evolved from dinosaurs.
Iirc it was a meteor that carried earth stuff. Aka jizz missile.
