If RCS is such an awesome standard, why not mandate it for all EU phones? Apple already supports the current standard, which is SMS. The idea that they have to open up their proprietary software seems silly to me.

Yup. The effect for me has been that I simply go out much less often.

It is confusing. If you have two apps on your phone that do the same thing, how is the new user supposed to know what to do? I'm thinking of Samsung and how they insist on shipping their own branded stuff that, for the most part, brings nothing new to the table.

When I see people criticize something they have clearly not used I get motivated to try it.

My take on it is that the Republicans will do their best to drag this out until the election. No compromising or middle ground. Just make it out to be the crazy Democrats fault. This stuff gets to be very predictable after all these years.

Until you realize that their implementation of AI, whatever that means, in their case is mediocre, and nothing more than a marketing term.

As with everything Samsung tends to do I’ll bet the AI stuff is half baked.

No I got confused. I was referring to sync on Android which can summarize posts using AI. For some reason I had it in my head that it was Bean.

I see bean got some updates.

I wish them much success but sounds like a hack.

I bet they do some thing like make it optional on the iPhone and the user needs to turn that setting on to get RCS. Obviously most users don’t care and will never look.
