I guess it's not really new cash funding but rushing to get him everything we've already promised, before the other guy can stop it.

I hope we get that 6B to him now, and he can turn that into something he can use to produce more of things like this, because I have no hope Trump will support Ukraine.

It's middle row left...

My best friend's dad recently passed. They got his DD214 and were going to memorialize his silver star and purple heart.

Turns out purple heart was real, silver star was not. Dude was telling stories, giving presentations, stealing valor for 40 fucking years.

Not saying this is the case here, but man, you just don't know with some people.

At a minimum, please put that in a high yield savings account. A quick search shows there are still some between 4-5%. Fairly easy to setup and not too bad to get out of, if you need to. (That's free $30-40 a month)

Once there I would consider where to start putting that money to work.

(Just some quick easy advice that you probably already know.)

I guess I have to buy a Nazi flag and learn how to goose step now.

I keep thinking about something I read on Lemmy not long ago; I know people that I would need to keep Anne Frank secret from.

The other thought is this is a case where they absolutely refuse to see the emperor has no clothes. And only for the simple reason that he gives them someone to hate.

All these people need someone to hate and they don't dare see that about themselves.

If I was SK, I would be concerned about what Putin gave NK for the troops.

A lot of Republican cans hate Ted Cruz here in Texas. They can't stand him. They think he's an ass.

But he's a Republican and that's all they fucking see in that booth.

Look at who is in office.

The governor, the Lt. governor, the state AG. They are ALL really terrible people, doing really terrible things. And the Republicans here don't give a shit.

The problem is getting the left to fucking vote.

And that cunt, Kim Ogg in Houston, endorsed Ted Cruz. (Side note, there's something rotten in Houston right now though and I have no idea what's going on. I have NO idea who to trust anymore.)

I'm almost 50, and this hits hard. So many things from my youth have blended together. Almost nothing from before I was 10 now.

That is one thing I do like about the phone in my pocket. I have a constant stream of photos now, of mine and my family's life. It's not just a random photo of a birthday here or there that survives, but an almost living journal.

Sorry, don't mean to be down, but back to the original story...

I actually didn't remember about the F-14 and the Sparrow missile and thought you were just thinking of the aircraft that ran into its own bullets. I wrote my reply that way and thought, maybe I should actually do some research because maybe I don't have the best memory, lol.

So you helped me remember too.

I think you might be conflating with this story.

The F-14 was testing the missile launch system, and the engineers failed to consider all the factors of the test missile and the system, causing it to not successfully clear the aircraft on launch, damaging the aircraft. Not really shooting itself down, or a failure of the F-14 design.

But to your real point, yeah, shit happens.
