You are not a failure for being poor and you are definitely not a failure as a father. You have done the best you can do for your son, under the current circumstances.

Yea, I always thought an "expat" was someone who was temporarily sent to another country to work for their company there.

I use Lemmy almost exclusively. Mastodon and Twitter never appealed to me, as I simply don’t see the point. Unless you use it for receiving info from local authorities and such.

I do still use Facebook for all the local and niche communities, which you can’t find anywhere else. I wish Mobilizon was more equal to Facebook Groups and had an actual mobile app.

Tensions had been rising in the lead up to Thursday night’s match with multiple social media videos showing Maccabi fans chanting anti-Arab slurs, praising Israeli military attacks in Gaza and yelling “f**k the Arabs.” Other videos apparently filmed in Amsterdam show men ripping Palestinian flags off buildings. It is unclear when those videos were filmed.

You are asking for a beating, regardless of you being Israeli or not, when yelling stuff like that.

Guild Wars 2. I like that my progress in the game will always matter and that it’s free to play, once you’ve bought it.

Hi there,

I’m thinking about what kind of opportunities there is for a portable media center you can have with you in the car, train or whatever.

I imagine that the media center would create its own WiFi, so that devices would be able to connect to it and access the media.

I know you could do something with a Raspberry Pi, but how could this work in practice? What would be an easy way to access the media from an iPad fx? What software could be used?

As a bonus, it would be pretty cool if the media center could connect to a hotel WiFi and then create a hotspot from that.

Edit: This would be used when on the move. So you would have the media with you on the media center.
