Sad to hear that. Unfortunately, it's true that not only Lemmy but also other Fediverse platforms like PeerTube currently lack strong moderation features.

Without setting registrations to manual approval, it's nearly impossible to prevent spammers, we’ve seen hundreds of spam accounts created daily when registrations are open.
