The church in my town is from the early 13th century, and there's a house from the mid 13th century. Both have been modified many times of course, but a lot of it remains original.

Almost all baths are plastic these days. Taking a bath with a toaster will just make the water warmer.

I have seen supermarkets with even stricter systems. I have seen carts with automated brakes/clamps. If you try to leave the supermarket with the cart, the wheels block. So you are forced to put your groceries in bags and carry the bags to the car.

That's a solved problem from a technical perspective. Use OAuth. Just look at "sign in with google/facebook/github/etc"
