Hey everyone! Thanks for participating in Canvas. I wanted to make a thread to collect together suggestions people have that can be worked on before the next Canvas.

Feel free to also throw in suggestions for future Events we can build and run for the fediverse.

Ill be collecting suggestions together and making issues for them in the repository for myself or some other contributors to work on (the projects open source so anyones free to contribute! https://git.sc07.company/sc07/canvas Feel free to reach out to me and I can help get you set up with the codebase)

As part of an update that was just pushed you can now enable "New Pixel Pulses" which will make a little circle for a bit surrounding any new pixels that get placed onto the canvas

You can use this to see where activity is happening on the canvas

This was originally made as a userscript by soda_cans and was adapted by me into the actual codebase

Currently on the canvas theres a bunch of blank space remaining. This is both due to people using the blank space as part of their design and due to some areas not having backgrounds yet!

(The green shade in the attached image is the blank canvas filter, you can find it in settings to see whats blank space and whats white)

As we head into the last part of canvas if you have any spare pixels you dont know what to do with you can drop some to help out some of the backgrounds

Gray lattice (around 472, 461)

Whitespace in OSU (around 313, 265)

Void (around 709, 218)

Foliage (around 581, 493)

Yellow (around 74, 469)

Blue and Teal (around 271, 201)

White stripes in the upper flags (around 350, 46)

I collected together all of the templates I could find for different groups (originally did this to see where I can expand the programming.dev template out to but figured other people might be interested so they can see where there wont be as much conflict for space

Most of these are from the group finder thread. Some may be a pixel off but I tried to get things as close as possible (some of these are recreated since I couldnt get the source image from imgur or the source image is larger and was shrunk for the canvas with me not being able to replicate the shrink behaviour)

We aren't a country but were given an exception and are participating with game soundtracks

Submission was chosen through a series of votes on our voting software, first a nomination thread then it was in semifinal 1 and then it was in the finals (being chosen out of 8 total entries)

Information

Casette Beasts is a game made in Godot by Bytten Studio and published by Raw Fury. Joel Baylis is the composer for the soundtrack while Shelby Harvey did the vocals. The studio is primarily based out of the UK with their publisher being based in Sweden.

Its a creature collector where monsters are recorded to tapes and then you can take on their form or combine two forms together to use in turn based combat.

Your Inception is a bonus track that appears when fighting a secret boss in the game added in as a reference to Bytten Studio's previous game, Lenna's Inception.

Finished up a recap site for lemmy similar to the recaps other sites like spotify, etc. have been doing!

Shows things like how many posts youve made, how many comments, your top posts of the year, the top communities you participate in, etc.

Theres a little role it assigns you and an image at the bottom that can be easily shared into the thread

Currently supports any instance running a lemmy compatible api (lemmy, pangora, etc.)

Lets you generate and then copy shields.io style badges to show different stats exposed by the api

For example for this community I can generate badges such as

Subscribers

Monthly Active Users

etc.

Theres a system built in that lets you customize how they look and then generate them again with those looks. Supports badges for instances, communities, or users

Hey everyone! Figured I would do a post about this bot here to get the word out that it exists. I recently brought back online and updated my remindme bot to 1.4 to make it comply with the lemmy.world bot guidelines.

This bot works across the fediverse but is primarily aimed at Pangora, Lemmy, and Kbin communities.

It functions on an allowlist in terms of what communities it participates in so if you want your community to be able to use it put a request by creating an issue in in the repository and itll get added

This bot aims to give people an easy way to remind themselves about an event on the fediverse. For example if theres something releasing in a couple months people can set a reminder using @[email protected] 2 months and they will get a reply to that message 2 months from then reminding them about it so they can check it out. (reminders are handled by replies so that it functions in kbin communities, and so that users from platforms such as mastodon can also use it in the communities)

Bot is fully open source so feel free to make pull requests with new features if you want or customize it to adapt it for your community if you want to self host.
