I wish somebody would try to trick him into pushing socialism-but-called-something-else because that would be fucking hilarious lmao

Look, with the tariffs going up but insufficient infrastructure to replace the imported goods, it's only a matter of time before we have backyard steel mills. And with the spread of bird flu, you know they're going to control it via 'kill all the birds'.

For as much as they claim to hate Communist China, they'll be doing Mao's greatest hits in no time.

Yeah, but we were hoping for socialism, not commie authoritarian nutjobbery.

Instructions unclear, now you get sent to gulag, comrade

you know, i have plans for a backyard propane biorefinery, (it's like rubber and a bunch of garbage bags and some hose it's really a lot less complicated than it sounds to build a swamp) i just don't have the equipment to get it under pressure to put it in my 5 pound white can. hm.

edit: i just checked and i'm not zoned for it either but i can get an exemption or rezoned i forget the process i really don't think the hoa will go for it. maybe they'll go for it if i sell them cheap propane

They forgot the part where every media outlet, including NPR, runs pieces saying, "it may not be as crazy as it sounds. It's really 3D chess, and while it looks like a horrible disaster right now, sometime in the future it might make all of your furniture spontaneously convert to gold! We don't know, but people are saying it."

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

NPR does not do that to the extent people claim it does, not even close. They present the facts and allow people to interpret them as they will, for the most part. It's not their fault people are bad at interpretation

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But, they do. NPR is - except for Lemmy -almost my only source of news, and I had to stop listening to it when they ran a piece on how the tariffs might actually not be such a bad thing.

You may be right: they may not do it as much as some people claim, but they're still repeating bullshit claims far more than they used to.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Would you mind linking the piece? The piece I saw did not support it

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

As usual, NPR doesn't know what it's talking about, Ork Teef actually degrade relatively rapidly outside of their mouths and are replaced by their species just regrowing them.

This is just another economic cargo cult!

Now some people are saying, “Mr. Trump, aren’t Orks a little chaotic?” Folks—we love chaos. We’ve been doing chaos better than anyone for years. But we do it our way. American Waaagh. Controlled chaos. Very organized. The best Waaagh.

Vermin Supreme will fight this policy tooth and nail. He will not allow anyone to gum up the works of this great nation. With his pony army and mystic dental arts, he will stop this maddness before cavities take root.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

He is grinding out a plan. In fact I heard he is grinding in his sleep.

I don't have much to contribute here, but I figured I should at least show up.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

I'm glad you did

I have before me a Great and Wonderful plan to Make America Rich Again! We trade in seashells, all purchases must be made in seashells. I hear there's a Wonderful Woman named Sally, she sells seashells by the seashore. I have instructed my administration to find this Sally of the seashore and make her head of the treasury!
