It really is amazing that we're not only in the era of "total social and environmental decline" but we're also in the era of "the absolute worst fucking people on earth get away with everything."

Honestly I thought it was really stupid to hear Trump going after "low propensity voters" as if Kamala wasn't.

To me, politically engaged people by nature will vote so why the fuck wouldn't you be trying to reach those that don't pay much attention? Like ffs if these people can't be their own advocates how could we expect them to run the damn country... Very very stupid. :(

Matt Gaetz using the DOJ as a hammer for "justice":

Merrick Garland something something "hammer of justice.":

That's a pretty big issue of mine as well. I'm 38 and I live around a sea of old people. Not only is where I live too expensive for people my age, but there isn't really anything to do where you could meet someone. I have absolutely no interest in going to a bar, I don't even drink anymore.

Can confirm.

If self worth would have a numerical value, before online dating mine was in the single digits, maybe teens, out of 100. After, it's deep in the negatives.

It's a shame being attractive is the most important thing about being attractive lol

I'm into cooking, astronomy, photography (astrophotography), and hiking. Used online dating (listed all those things) for almost 10 years and went on something like 7 dates. Still single lol I just gave up about a year ago

The good ol' "imperfect vessel" bullshit I'm sure. They won't give two shits if he was literally killing babies himself, running around calling himself Johnny Abortionseed. They believe what they want to believe, it's why they're religious in the first place...

Every fucking game lately has a "This game woke?" post in the discussions... Then they go on a circle jerk about how having options is disgusting and dei brown people ruin everything.

They're such gross hate filled people...

Trump just got reelected. America forgot about Trump's first term...

It's absolute insanity...

"Oh Tapper, you think you get Those Of Faith™ with your gotcha questions... Let me show you how a Man Of Faith™©® does it. Here, take your pick of a representative."

"Ummm ok, Saint Peter I choose you!"

"Ok and now for my response: This person is an abomination to God, a heathen, and a person without the slightest moral guidance! They are not fit to hold office!! Ok, now I choose my representative. Beezelbub I choose you!"

"Err... a literal demon?"

"Sure sure, now my rebuttal to your criticism: You see little Tapper, sometimes God chooses imperfect vessels to act through. We cannot question God's plan and it is not for us to judge. Do you see how that works little Tapper? It's called I Always Win™."

They all use extreme and misleading hyperbole and clickbait in their titles and thumbnails that have a strained-at-best relationship with objective facts and the subject at hand. Saying that Jack Smith is winding down his cases against Trump is not “BIG news on FEDERAL PROSECUTION of TRUMP before inauguration!!!”, for example. BTC is particularly noteworthy for this.

This is literally why I've come to call them mierdas touch and have specifically never clicked on a video of theirs. The trend of all these asshats to do this with EVERY story is just infuriating, pakman and all.

I scroll through YouTube and it's just "Trump WRECKED by new BOMBSHELL!" "New polling DESTROYED Trump!" "Trump FEARS this koala!" "The left DOMINATED a sandwich" I never click on anything like that and the shit they say is never true to the emotion they put behind the title. No that poll didn't WRECK anyone. No Jack Smith didn't DESTROY anyone. No the left didn't DOMINATE that sandwich...

...the koala though. Everyone should fear the koala...

It's not exactly "us." We don't determine whether Kamala runs with an asinine message like "we're going to hire Republicans" or "I wouldn't do anything different than Biden."

That's her stupidity and I think why so many people sat out the election. As the articles are pointing out, the people that sat out the election were in "safe" states, so they were completely uninspired to vote but knew not voting wouldn't have affected the outcome (except locally which is still stupid.)

Hey Lemmy! Time to do some digging!

I was sent a link from a friend about some Totally Cool™ guy who has close ties to JD Vance: Curtis Yarvin. Anyone aware of this guy and his desires? I won't put the link in here as my last post was removed because of it, but a comment within the thread is copied below.

Apparently Japanese media covered the story as was posted to Reddit, but there doesn't seem to be too much talk of this in the US.

From a comment in the reddit discussion: “Curtis Yarvin is a far-right ‘intellectual’ that wants to end democracy and install what I can only really describe as cyberpunk feudalism. He’s suggested turning the United States into a patchwork of corporate fiefdoms ruled with absolute impunity by CEOs, as well as putting mandatory ankle monitors on all unemployed and poor people. This sounds like a joke, but I’m serious. JD Vance is not just a fan of him intellectually, but also a personal friend. As someone who has known about Yarvin for several years, it’s been really concerning seeing how he could potentially become a Rasputin-like figure in the event of a Trump victory. Beyond this, Yarvin has also spent many years advocating for what sounds eerily like Project 2025.”

For those familiar with Star Citizen lore, he apparently wants to turn the US into the Stanton system “lol” …
