With human rights on the chopping block I wish the average person was less greedy tbh.
Don't get me wrong, cost of living are important issues, just maybe not more important than fighting fascism and climate change.

It's possible that the people who want to reduce the cost of living are barely scraping by.
Edit: also, the number of people I know who have been laid off in the last few years and are still looking for a job is unprecedented. I think it's fair to say that all of the things listed are important, but when you're unemployed or otherwise unable to put food on the table, that can adjust how you might feel about priorities 💔
I think greed is just human nature but people need to be logical about it. Raising the floor for society benefits the average person a shit ton more than raising the ceiling.
It makes me sad to know that the only reason Carney is surging in the polls is because old people are scared of Trump...
Those are pretty much the generations heavily influenced and grew up with Facebook. The Liberals could have really done themselves and society a favour if they did something about the misinformation on there.
Except they did the exact opposite - making it easy to post misinformation, but impossible to post credible sources calling it out.
But now it's easy. If something that looks like news is posted on Facebook, it's misinformation.
Sure, if your brain is firing on all cylinders and you have that level of critical thinking.
Of the charts I particularly found that Conservatives was voting for "Growing the economy" to be pretty humorous. Before the current Trump crap, Canada was clearly at the top of GDP growth among the G7. GDP has long been a general standard definition of "economy".
Then places like the Fraser Institute started with this GDP per person thing which didn't really even make past Conservatives look good it only made the incumbents look bad. If we're straying from the general economic talks and into inequality or personal well being then the Conservative trickle down policy looks even worse.
I personally go by money velocity and natural inflation (as in creation of nonphysical money via debts) as indicators for good or bad economy.
When people spend money that they actually have, all is well. When people save money: they are afraid. When they spend money that they dont have:they should be.
Something people all over the world are starting to realize, as a new age of aggression is upon us, is that GDP is just a trade indicator which doesn't quantify a country's capability or assets.
It's wild how many conservatives gleefully and knowingly troll with the same doublespeak their politicians model for them yet never catch it when those politicians talk about ~~rich people's money~~ "the economy."
