This is funny, but it parodies "indoor cats" as if outdoor cats aren't a menace to every ecosystem they're inflicted upon.

[–] [email protected] 116 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Outdoor humans havent been great to their ecosystems either

[–] [email protected] 53 points 2 weeks ago

That's why I'm proud to be an indoor human

Now imagine the same "joke" but with the genders reversed.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I know what you're going for, but it's the same middling-funny joke with either gender. Eye roll, minor dopamine hit, move on.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I mostly agree that it's the same bad joke BUT swapping the genders puts it into "bad taste" terrority given that women being held by their partners against their will isn't some absurd proposal

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah there's definitely a "which one happens more often" angle to take on that one. Ultimately the first poster is right and it's just an eye roll and you keep scrolling, trying to do the "well if I made that joke I'd get booed" bit is on the same level of all the "comedians" who's whole career at this point is bitching about how they don't think people are paying them enough to run their mouth.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago

This one gives me an eye roll but if it was about a woman I'd cringe.

But to the guy whining: shut up, man. No one made that joke

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That meme left a bad taste too. The minor shock at the terrible joke was what gave the dopamine hit. Abuse is abuse, no matter the gender.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 2 weeks ago

Drag thinks this joke would be funny no matter the gender if it were told between friends who are all into BDSM and CNC, as long as their gender preferences were compatible with the joke. But it's only funny if you're into consensual versions of the scenario here.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 2 weeks ago

Whether it's funny or not is a personal thing - I do can laugh about dark humor. But socially this is clearly a double standard and ultimately fuel for the incel losers.

Ariel Castro laughs nervously

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

"Help me, I've been kidnapped, and I've been missing for ten years. And I'm here. I'm free now!"

Jfc... :( Reminds me of the Turpin case & escape, which unfortunately was not the end of the abuse.

Good thing he's neutered so he doesn't fill the neighborhood with feral children

I haven't studied French in decades, but isn't the author's name something like 'eater of eyes'?

Those are not handcuffs. Right?

[–] [email protected] -3 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Now imagine the same post saying girlfriend instead of boyfriend and having over 350 upvotes.

And this children is how domestic violence against men is stigmatized by society as something to laugh about...

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah except very obviously the entire thing is a joke and clearly so.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Would it be okay to joke about keeping a captive "indoor girlfriend?"

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

In the right circles you do yeah

Though it's mostly lesbians posting it

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Thank you, exactly the point I try to raise here

Ima be real w u, as a woman, in this economy, rent's fucking expensive so if someone from c/femcelmemes wants to set me up like this, set me up with an ethernet line and it's a deal.

One major idea from feminsm is your gender shouldnt matter. Yeah no shit, locking up anyone agaisnt their consent is fucked up. Take a joke snowflake 🙄 /hj

Gender's a scam. Stop making up a guy to be indignant about. You only care when you have a status quo to defend and like it or not, men benefitn from their percieved status where women have to work so much harder to be taken seriously.

Thats exactly why Ill reply with this, and refuse to engage in any debate or what abouts. Yku dont have to worry about policing your thoughts and having others police them the way women do. Do not have time to allow you to ratchet the overton window rightward gg ez 🤷‍♀️
