No, they retconned his name to be Tolkien because Token just doesn't sit well as a joke anymore, especially because they have other black characters on the show now.
I am assuming they’re referencing South Park.
It is also a racial slur that has been used historically to degrade and dehumanize blacks.
That was what South Park was getting at by naming their one black kid Token. And after 20+ years, they retconned him to be named Tolkien.
