I really wish people would stop using whom if they don’t know how to use it.

And it's not even that hard, just try the sentence with he/him to test it out:

  • Who lives above? He lives above.

  • Whom is this for? This is for him.

Exactly. If I want to go out of my way to sound correct, why not go all the way and look up how to actually be correct. It takes but oh so few seconds.

I used to be the upstairs neighbor. I would wake up and take the first step out of bed and the floor would creek cause it was a triplex. The downstairs neighbor would immediately be at my door bitching about the noise. I'm the quietest guy, but even so much as walking to the kitchen would piss that lady off.

Sometimes it's the downstairs neighbor who is crazy.

I don't care who you are, you shouldn't give your children crack. IANAL

This is uncanny - I was just experiencing the same!

Just bask in the knowledge that you are not responsible for that child. (Other than in a generalized "it takes a village" kind of way.) Having raised a couple, I get a kick out of hearing the little toddler feet or hungry baby-wail above me, especially late at night and thinking "not my problem!" as I roll over and went go to sleep.

There is a very famous solution to that, discussed at length in 2014 on a French forum; Le disque de pisse

Aka the piss disk (yes, it is exactly what the name suggests).
