You know there are "actual real adults" who live without a car and have managed to navigate all the problems you've mentioned. It's not impossible, it just requires some changes that sometimes add inconvenience.

For example, when I need to use a truck I either borrow or rent one for a day or two. The number of vehicles that just sit around unused is a testament to the fact that there are way more cars on the road than necessary. And we're all footing the bill for it with our taxes, lungs, and sanity.
