Yeah this is straight up illegal. The FTC and EU don’t give a shit if this was “just a test” or “a whoopsie doopsie.”

those organizations don't work for people. they work for corporations. if this story is true, it sets a precedent that all other tech companies will probably follow

USB-C iPhone? You're right, it is working.
Ok, but that was probably going to happen anyway? Apple learned after people pitched an absolute shit fit when they changed at once from the 30-pin connector to lightning to never do that again. So they’ve been switching over the products one line at a time to USB-C. First MacBooks, then iPads one update at a time until now all the new ones are USB-C. My guess is iPhones were always gonna be next.
I don't know about US but in the EU these things don't fly.
