it's completely irrelevant about their "duty" because "duty" as a sense of responsibility is a fictitious construct our government uses to instill a sense of fear that empowers their lackeys and forces compliance by the public.

there's literally nothing stopping LEOs from breaking the laws they are supposed to protect. in-fact, their idea of keeping themselves in check is to self-regulate through internal affairs. a division, just to remind you, that sits inside the police force and determines culpability.
