I will never understand people's strong desire to live or vacation near the ocean. You pay a massive premium just to live on "the coast", with the ever present threat of hurricanes for what? Some sounds and breeze?
People will arrange their vacations so that they can visit the ocean, for what? Unless you're a surfer or something, it's boring, it's just another body of water with an increased risk of death or injury by various means.
I'm not even one of those that's afraid of the ocean or anything, I've been in it, I left in less than an hour because it's boring AF. It's much more fun to go to a water park or even just a public pool, hell your city might even have a public water park/pool like mine does.
I'll never understand people's strong desire to live near "public pools". Their filled with harsh chemicals and overrun by angsty teens and unsupervised children.
I'll also never understand the desire to yuck another person's yum. People like what they like.
I'll be sure to pass along your inane yammering about how boring the beach is to the family.
I'll never understand why people like what I don't like. It's so dumb for everyone not to be like me.
Anakin, is that you?
It's the sandy sand in your trunks that must be irritating you.
I will never understand people content to live away from a shore. Any shore will do - I used to think oceans were the clear winners until I spent some time on the shores of Lake Ontario! There's something magical about the border regions between land and water. I've spent my entire life never living more than ten miles from an ocean and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Maybe when you get older you'll start to appreciate things that you don't appreciate now. I used to think I disliked the heat, but it was actually the sensation of clothes sticking to me I disliked. Now I know to time my bathing to make sure I'm clean during the hot hours and I like heat much more now.
This dude is not on that touch sand lifestyle.
That may be true for Florida, but that's not really relevant for northern California/PNW/many, many other parts of the world...
For some of us it’s an incredibly calming force. I could sit on the beach all day just watching and listening to the waves, watching the birds, crabs, etc. and get lost in thought. Nothing is more peaceful for me.
My wife doesn’t agree. She find the mountains and camping peaceful.
To each their own.
