And it's not like I'm going to start a fire. That just happens to other people. Not me.

You realize that this mentality is considered a huge joke pretty much everywhere no..? "That only happens to other people" is not true. Does your house have electricity? If yes, an electric fire completely beyond your control could start tonight. Any batteries in the house? See my first comment. Do you cook? Accidents happen (and no, they don't only happen to "other people"). There's not just a subset of the population that's just having constant house fires and everyone else is safe.

Do car accidents only happen to other people too? Or medical ailments, or crime?

Yes, every much. And I have cat hair everywhere and a lot of electricity. Seems like a risk factor.

But you know ... It won't happpen to me.
