It's easy to avoid buying things from Amazon. It's hard to avoid AWS. It would be insane to try to suss out what provider everyone that I buy stuff from uses, and their third party relationships. Regulation is better.

Sometimes people walking dogs plan on walking past the same spot on the return trip, so they leave the bag. Sometimes they forget to pick it back up, or forget that they dropped it there and take a different route home. Sometimes bag number two is the next day, or some other person's bag. Generally, if someone's going to pull a shit and split, they're not bagging.

I love the concept of a pseudo Mastodon crosspost.

I agree, but isn't it fun that the Harris campaign is using Musk's platform to counter Trump, and in this case Musk.

This is happening in Missouri.

"Her family had routinely used the generator when the power was out, including during the 2021 freeze, which resulted in the worst carbon monoxide poisoning event in recent history. They always kept the device at a safe distance to prevent the colorless, odorless gas from seeping inside. On July 11, however, they moved it a few feet closer to their home in Cleveland, Texas, placing it under the porch in anticipation of rain from the hurricane."

"The family did not have a CO detector. Nothing in state law required them to. At the time of the 2021 winter storm, Texas was one of six states with no statewide requirement for CO detectors in homes..."

My generator manual is pretty specific about this risk. It also mentions not pointing the exhaust toward the dwelling.

It's hard to escape palm oil. It's a shame. It could be an environmentally friendly option if greedy people were just a little less greedy.

The oil in Jif is rapeseed (canola) and/or soybean, not palm. Not disagreeing with your sentiment in general, but for the sake of clarity...

While we're on this tangent, I've always felt the need to point out the following.

Minimum Viable Product = Poorly planned, or not planned at all, crappy product that is created in haste by overworked, stressed out developers to make some middle manager in a suit and sneakers type feel like they're doing something to please corporate, because they don't have the guts or good sense to push back. This abomination is usually sold as "we'll flesh it out in phase two." Phase two never happens, because they're off chasing whatever other shiny thing they think is important. Also, the last MVP that they farted out "didn't gain traction." /rant
