It's just a meme, bro

If you try the ammo can idea make sure you poke a hole in it otherwise you run the risk of it becoming a bit of a pressure vessel.

Absolutely. I've only done it once or twice, just long enough to get the one low cell voltage high enough to switch back to lipo mode. Also, all the lipo charging I do is inside of a steel ammo can. My drone buddy teases me about it but I don't care, big and/or lipo batteries are fucking scary.

There's a trick I learned for drone lipo batteries where if you have low cell voltage, you can set your charger up to charge a different battery chemistry, I think NiMH but don't quote me on that, charge it for a little bit and then switch it back to lipo mode. No idea if it would work here.

My partner has narcolepsy and she didn't find out until a couple years after she got it. I suppose it's unlikely but the student here could have it.

Ubuntu 24.04, as far as I know I have all the right Proton stuff installed and the latest Nvidia drivers.

Keep it up 💪

Huh. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04 with a 2080 Ti 🤔

There are mechanical door releases that I figured Tesla owners knew about. They kinda blend in and now I see how someone might not be aware of their existence.

I spent a couple hours trying to get Baldur's Gate 3 running on Linux. It was rough but I got it to run at 1440 but the latency made it sort of unplayable. It runs great in Windows 10 at 4k with the default settings. I have some other windows-only software so I guess I'm going to "upgrade" all my computers that are able to do so but I don't feel good about it. All my computers dual boot windows/linux, I would love to be linux-only.

Edit: lots of people are saying theirs runs smoothly, I'm going to have to do further testing. Thanks for the input!

Yeah we're going to need to see those

I am of the age to have kids, some of my friends have them, but I have mixed feelings about it, just wondering about other people's experiences.

First, a hardware question. I'm looking for a computer to use as a... router? Louis calls it a router but it's a computer that is upstream of my whole network and has two ethernet ports. And suggestions on this? Ideal amount or RAM? Ideal processor/speed? I have fiber internet, 10 gbps up and 10 gbps down, so I'm willing to spend a little more on higher bandwidth components. I'm assuming I won't need a GPU.

Anyways, has anyone had a chance to look at his guide? It's accompanied by two youtube videos that are about 7 hours each.

I don't expect to do everything in his guide. I'd like to be able to VPN into my home network and SSH into some of my projects, use Immich, check out Plex or similar, and set up a NAS. Maybe other stuff after that but those are my main interests.

Any advice/links for a beginner are more than welcome.

Edit: thanks for all the info, lots of good stuff here. OpenWRT seems to be the most frequently recommended thing here so I'm looking into that now. Unfortunately my current router/AP (Asus AX6600) is not supported. I was hoping to not have to replace it, it was kinda pricey, I got it when I upgraded to fiber since it can do 6.6gbps. I'm currently looking into devices I can put upstream of my current hardware but I might have to bite the bullet and replace it.

Edit 2: This is looking pretty good right now.

They're almost 3 now. When I picked them up they had different names (Miley and Twilight) but nobody knew which was which so I figured different names were in order.

Made by a woodworking youtuber (blacktail studios) I watch sometimes.
