Even if 99% of them are actually gang member, then there is still a bunch of innocent people locked up. Using the word 'accused' or 'suspected' isn't meant to cause doubt, it's to make clear they haven't been convicted. I really wouldn't want to be falsely accused and treated as these men are, and it's really awful knowing some of them could be there without having done anything wrong.
The Lingua Franca didn't change because someone decided to change it, it slowly happened. You could argue it would be nice for EU if the (local) Lingua Franca would be the language of a large member state, but I don't see it happening by force. Probably better to just leave it to be English, even if the Irish are the only native speakers in the EU.
It was never about getting the best plane for the best price, it was and still is about giving money to the ones that give you the most in return.
