Okayyyyy it looks like it finally worked, maybe, for some reason I had to make the post from my phone instead of my computer, it was so fucking annoying because everything looked fine on my account, but if I was on my alt account I couldn’t see the post

Monochrome tree, idk there's not much else to say.

Also I apologize if I'm accidentally spamming the community with this post, on my end I've posted this twice already and it says the post was created, then I go to my account and it's just not there. So I'm not sure if that's just something funky on my end or if it's actually not publishing.

Exposure Settings:

Aperture: f/4 Shutter Speed: 1/60s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 27mm

Information:

I have to post one picture every day, I can take pictures in advance, in case I'm unable to take a picture for whatever reason (vacation, weather, idk) but I still have to post once per day.

I can't post pictures of the same thing within like, a week or two, idk, I might get rid of this "rule" if I feel like it.

Don't be afraid to give me any feedback on any of my pictures, I'm still veeery new to photography and would love any feedback given.

Gear:

Canon EOS Rebel t2i

18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 EFS zoom lens

55-250mm f/4-5.6 EFS zoom lens

Pictures are taken in RAW, processed in Darktable and GIMP, then converted to webp and compressed to 70% quality.

If you'd like a higher (or full) quality image, just ask me in the replies or dms, I'll happily send it when I get a chance. If you don't specify a file format or quality, I'll just send a jpeg at 90% quality (or whatever necessary to get a reasonable file size). You can also totally ask for the version of the image before edits.

Also, you're free to do anything you want with any of my pictures, just don't claim you were the one to take it :)

BONUS POTATOOO (actually a yam but whatever)

I’ll be making a new post in like 6 hours…

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 hours ago (4 children)

Being mean I guess? This genuinely made my day

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 hours ago

Yep, I think this was the absolute closest I could get while still being mostly in focus, I haven’t heard of focus stacking before, I might have to look into that a little bit.

OH MY GOD THATS AMAZING

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

More unsolicited feedback!

Your unsolicited feedback is very welcome!

It looks like that kicks in around f/11

I see, I'll try and keep that in mind as well for the future

I would try to keep ISO down

Gotcha, I usually leave the ISO to automatic, would you recommend I set it manually? Or maybe lower the max ISO it can choose automatically?

Haha, I can't say I've ever read that book, but I'm glad it brought back some nostalgic feelings for you!

I found a green flower! And a little friend on it, I took a few other pictures with different apertures and different distances but they all came out blurry/undetailed, so this was the best I got, oops!

Staghorn Sumac

Maybe? I live in the Pacific Northwest but it looks they mostly grow in eastern US

I have no idea what this is but it's really pretty, I found it walking around my college campus. I also cropped the image to 1440p in case someone wants to use it for like a 16:9 thing.

Yeah right, next you’re gonna tell me that Irish spring soap isn’t infused with leprechauns.

Thank you so much! I'm having a lot of fun with this and it means so much when people say something like this!

Pretty late uploading this! I figured I'd try my hand at a bit of food photography. This is also the first photo that was originally taken in RAW and edited a little, so there's probably a lot that could have been done differently.

Just a fun little plant in my yard, this is the last in my backlog of pictures taken as jpegs originally.

Aperture: f/4.5 Shutter Speed: 1/400s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 33mm

Oh hey, before anyone asks, this is definitely inspired by that one guy who took a screenshot of the games he played every day.

For now (I have a small backlog of pics I'm gonna share) all images are originally taken as jpegs (5184x3456) with minimal compression, but I always compress and convert to webp to reduce stress on Lemmy servers and make things load better. Soonish I'll be uploading pictures taken in RAW, processed on Darktable and GIMP, then converted to webp and compressed. If you'd like a higher (or full) quality image, just ask me in the replies or dms, I'll happily send it when I get a chance. Here's the waterfall we have in our fish pond! After some suggestions from people, I'm going to actually do some editing of the photos before posting them now! This one just has the contrast slightly boosted.

Exposure Settings:

Aperture: f/9 Shutter Speed: 1/160s ISO: 800 Focal Length: 84mm

It's day two already! Woohoo! Here's a funky rusty butterfly on a rusty dog thing in my backyard.

I'll do my best to only share pictures taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T2i (or better if I ever get a new camera) but some days may be pictures from my phone, (I'll let you know if that happens)

All images shared are originally taken as jpegs (5184x3456) without compression, but I always compress to 80% and convert to webp to reduce stress on Lemmy servers and make things load better. If you want a full-quality image, just ask me in the replies or dms, I'll happily send it when I get a chance.

Starting off with the puppo! Her name is Stellar, and she's adorable (I might be biased)

Hey hey! It's been quite a few months since I've done anything on here! I decided to go on a walk today with my dog, Stellar, (before you ask, yes I got a picture of her), who was not being super cooperative with my photo taking. I'm also experimenting with putting all of the photos in the body, so we'll see if the formatting is fine (sorry if it isn't!)

All of these images have been compressed and converted to webp, but I'm happy to send a full-quality image in jpeg if requested by comments or dms.
