To be fair the division stems from sininster algorithms. Each individual's internet reality is vastly different from one to another. If you're constantly bombarded with propaganda from one side, its fair to assume your opinions will be reinforced or begin to lean one way or another.

Facebook is especially sinister. They essentially have turned the asch conformity experiment into a social media platform.

Basically using your friends, favorite celebrities, and peers to influence your views. They even have fake accounts that appear to look like they are from your local community.

The majority of Americans side with our allies. Even those that voted for trump. But this is our mess to clean up. What we need is informational aide. Truth and facts are being held hostage by corporate sponsored social media. Im glad lemmy can answer that call. But we need a coordinated effort to take down zuckerfuck, elmo, and fuckspez propaganda machine.

Awsome thank you!

Im noticing its harder and harder to find things on google. Searching for a companies quarterly profits, cost of medical care for all per capita, and othet economic details are all getting more and more buried in google. Just asking how other contries do their social programs results in us based opionion articles....like wtf are we even doing.

I understand scrolling and indexing sites is an enormous undertaking. Is there currently a federated open source search engine? If not is their a potential to create one?

Is there a trustworthy private option?

Reganomics. Trickle down economics. Only thing that trickles is piss and shit.

formerly known as the horse-and-sparrow theory: the idea that feeding a horse a huge amount of oats results in some of the feed passing through for lucky sparrows to eat.
