With the amount of people that voted for Trump I don’t have much confidence in the literacy of randos

‘suspended without pay’ Holy crap this should mean he can’t ever have a gun or be a cop again

I just deleted all my content but didn’t delete my account. Agreed though there is some useful information on there

Opt out is such a shitty practice. Especially for AI generation

Yeah I will probably need to switch over to firefox if Brave is gonna break. Are the blockers in Brave V2 do you know?

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 month ago (3 children)

What makes you say this? Brave is my primary and doesn’t need uBlock to effectively block ads

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

They used to. You would need to try and see but it’s free. I haven’t used it for that in over a year though

There is this too - I used it awhile back so I’m not sure if it still works. I do temp emails on sites that just want a quick login so you can download something and it works great.

That Apple has kept its work with cops largely under wraps indicates the company is aware that providing tech for police surveillance operations is inherently at odds with its pro-privacy marketing

This is an odd statement. I think what they mean is that it’s private for the individual cop but that is not what they want for the department. If Apple then makes a ‘cop version’ that has backdoor access for legality purposes, that code via a bug could make it into everyone’s phones. So yes in that regard but not just that they are working with cops (I would hope). I think they are just not releasing a business plan until they are 100% on it

I used it for awhile to find a job recently. It’s all recruiters contacting you that have no idea what your skill set is so they just end up wasting your time

If I have played someone a bunch or am on a quest then definitely. Otherwise I try to keep it like live cards. Remember you can always cheat IRL too! It’s up to you if/when/where

Anyone running a 13x or 14x should test their PC using Intel’s stress test utility, especially if you have had crashes. It’s permanent damage and they will replace your processor.

Also update your BIOS if you have those chips. There is a software fix for if you haven’t been affected yet

What happens if you try to return an empty package?

So I like to draw a bit, that kinda turned into painting and then exploded into 3d design. Now I want to paint my prints but with my experience I am not sure what to get. I won’t use the paints outside of prints most likely. Are there any that are good that are good to be used sparsely? Maybe any techniques?

Amazon (lemmy.world)

With the addition of ads for paying users, is there anything subscribers can do to protest? I hate ads with a passion.

Maybe separate all shipping items to cost them more? I’m not seeing many options other than cancellation

There are laws in place for service workers related to minimum wage. The employers have to make up the difference if tips don’t meet the rate for hours worked. It seems to me that’s not sufficient for the times.

Hypothetically, if everyone were to stop tipping in the U.S. would things be better or worse for workers? Would employers start paying workers more?
