I don't think that the distribution of system packages is the issue. People need a way to easily distribute and obtain everyday applications, and to keep them up to date in the same manner. Linus spoke about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pzl1B7nB9Kc

I would rather have a snap than building from source or use some tar.gz archive with a sketchy install script

I agree, but that sounds like false dichotomy to me because snap competes with flatpak.

It is intentionally amplified by the owners because that makes them money. We have more than enough knowledge to say that with confidence thanks to the empirical data and ex-employees.

I thanked you for your reply and suggested reading a tutorial. How does that make me mad and upset? You're acting weird.

Thank you. If you bothered to read a 5 minutes tutorial instead of posting to 4chan, you could also reach this level of knowledge.

As I've been working with Java professionally for years, you're right, I would be surprised, because that would be really uncommon.

If it took anon 30 minutes to write hello world in java, programming is not for anon.

Yes. Arch Wiki probably has an article about this exact problem.

From propaganda and ignorance.

I see this block every time I open my email. Is this a bug I'm facing or is this the new normal?
