To be fair, it's just California trying to save us from the monsters that they created π ...... π«

I like shitting on Facebook but this is a stupid article.
Meta is literally resorting to giving them away for free: Attendees of this year's developer conference for the global gaming platform Roblox each got a free Meta Quest Pro. While it's unclear how many people attended the event, it's a clear indication that the device isn't exactly flying off the shelves.
So they gave some away at a dev conference. But we don't know how many, and we also don't know if the Roblox conference paid for those devices or if Meta really gave them away for free. Clickbait bullshit.
Fair, I got about halfway through before I got bored.
Wow he still uses the same intro song and everything
More importantly, if you find something free, expect it to be from a very sketchy company. You should be paying for something like this, and you should go through a company that you TRUST.
It only uses Sync if you set up a Mozilla account. If you prefer not to do that, you can still set a Primary Password and the passwords will remain local on your machine, encrypted: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-firefox-securely-saves-passwords
Yeah the distinction is pretty small, and usually people are just talking about FOSS software....but I'd rather avoid the semantics so just calling the community "open source" makes sense to me.
I don't have a definitive answer to your first question, but why would we want to limit a sub to FOSS-only discussion? It's a more restrictive designation. By calling the sub "open source" we're keeping it open to software that isn't technically FOSS.
That doesn't mean the website isn't garbage. It's good to call out trash sites like this so that people will stop going there.
LOL I have Ublock Origin so I don't see the pop-ups but the website just freezes after 3 seconds of scrolling, and I have to leave. They've really ruined their site. π
Okay, how bout they do the math, I check their work, and if I disagree I let them know? And what if that process didn't involve a bunch of complicated bullshit rules, and what if I didn't have to put money into garbage tax companies' pockets?
I have one source of income and I am not rich. I don't have a trust, or investments, or multiple jobs. My taxes should be simple as hell, easy to file, and free.
Notebookcheck is pretty dry but their reviews are more thorough and technical than most.
