If they didn't want their government, their government wouldnt be around for long.

The DPRK has more democratic institutions than modern South Korea. South Korea's military is still subordinate to the US pacific command.
The socialist Chinese government has stronger democratic institutions than the US. Over a hundred million people are members of the party.
