Things might have changed since the 90s, however I worked at multiple KFCs and the intelligence level of the people they hired to run these things was pretty damn low. In fact, at one store most of the cooks were stoned every single shift. Nobody got seriously hurt.

Glad to see you found a solution then that works.

To use the native scripts I guess you'd probably have to package it correctly to work with Nixos as it needs Perl which I didn't consider earlier.

Every bloody third advert on TV in Australia is a gambling ad, it's insane that we continue to allow it given how much of an actual widespread problem it is here. They have fairly lame government mandated warnings after each one but I doubt they do much at all.

Australia had some real dipshits in charge of it before the current government came into power. Why you'd deliberately and unnecessarily piss off your biggest trading partner to score a couple of brownies points with Trump who's laughing at you behind your back anyway blows my mind.

You can get the scripts and use them directly. See https://www.idrive.com/readme for details. You don't need Distrobox or anything else.

I have this working on Fedora no problems. Also their customer service is fully supportive and able to answer questions regarding Linux if you need help too, they may even alter the scripts for you if it isn't working on Nixos if you ask nicely.

I use a service called iCloud which has both cloud storage and local backup support built into it. Not free or open source but no cloud platform fully is. It's also really cheap for students.

The ship has sailed on nuclear tech being worthwhile now if you haven't already committed to it and are well underway. Instead, renewables offer a cheaper, safer and much faster return on investment while being ultimately better for the environment. It'll take much more than what is offered by gen IV for that to change.

Nuclear power takes a long ass time to build which is one of the many downsides of it.

Slovenia isn't a landlocked country and has all the same options that others do.

Renewables are better for the environment though.

Why?

Renewables are cheaper, faster to deliver and better over all for the environment. There's every reason to believe this will just be a money sink that may not even see the light of day eventually.
