The best gift ever is that my family all agreed not to buy unneeded things for each other. The gift of not stressing, not having to go shopping, and not spending money just keeps on giving.

We did fight, and win, a world war about this. Those people got into hateful group think just like the republicans and we ended up doing something about it and saved the world from fascism.

And I think that sheds some light on it. Lots of positions were not red like enlisted officers white engineering uniforms, so it was really only all red for officers. If the highest ranked were red, then they go back to multiple colors, it would make sense for the command cluster to keep red.
