After looking around it seems the .ml or .world is not really tolerant towards Lemmygrad of which they defederated.
The same attitude with Hexbear.

Example [email protected]:

Here are the things that get you banned: -saying anything remotely iffy with a lemmygrad or hexbear account

Thanks again for the info.

Thanks for the info.

In a more general sense, I always felt that only reading sources that alligned with one’s political alignment narrowed one’s perspective.

Definitely, I'm certainly not looking for an echo chamber. It is exactly the opposite since it's very rare to find something outside the common MSM and social media narrative. Hence the dissapointment with all the news sources mentioned here.

Also the left ones I know have less 'pulp', 'trivial' -or whatever you can call it- posts and more interesting subjects not covered elsewhere. I am also constantly surprised and impressed with the knowledge the users have. They know their stuff, put effort into replies, provide sources and useful info on sometimes very specific topics or events in history. It's vastly more educational.

Yes, not supporting NATO will get you viciously attacked.
Russian propaganda, Vlad, go suck Pootins dick,, etc.... All that is allowed but you can't return the favor so you get banned.
Same for Mastodon, and I don't want to come back to either of those.
I can find the same garbage and narrative like that on Reddit, not what I'm looking for.

**hexbear ** it was a post about "the boomers" and how they are everything what's wrong with the world and evil Trumpers. I expected better from someone on Hexbear.
I tried to explain they are not a monolith, their generation have achieved a lot in the 60's and did their share, sometimes at great cost.
Also it's a divide and conquer tactic.
If blaming a certain age group is not ageism (a standard no no in most instances rules) someone should explain it to me. Anyway, OP tried to get out of it by saying "boomer is more of a mindset" which is nonsense.
But mostly he got very defensive with the same result as in the non-left instances.

Lemmygrad I had a disagreement about how I personally don't see religion and communism as compatible. Not appreciated by my Muslim adversary.
And there we I went again.

These 2 subs I really like and visit and would go back to if it could be fixed. I don't even know how, like I didn't know about the 2 week lemm.ee ban. Suddenly you are logged out, can't log in and that was it. Didn't see an option to protest a ban anywhere.

What Mastodon instance did you get banned from, just out of curiosity? Couldn't tell you, it was the very first Fediverse thing I tried and knew even less than now where I was.

Yes I need to tone it down IF I per sé want to stay.
I admit I get full on aggressive when attacked and I dislike having to do this (or the results) but having to self censor out of fear doesn't sit right. There is enough censorship as it is. Opinions on politics can easily clash and I admit I can be very hard, confrontational and not diplomatic. It is fair for others to also not hold back, I don't mind. Grown ups should be able to hold heated civil discussions. But they should do it without vulgar insults or baseless slander.
I think that is a reasonable request.
Thanks.

OK, partly off topic: I'm new here and in the fediverse in general. Trying to find out what is what and where I want to be part of.
So I figure I go to Ask Lemmy, where I see your question and found it interesting.
To my surprise, since I was under the impression lemmy.ml was a real leftist place I see mostly horrible MSM sources.
Was I wrong?

Kryptonite-3 doors down.
Or any of those upbeat and obnoxious songs.
And Happy by Pharell.
I hate him, his stupid hat and everything he does in or outside of music.

Isn't it implied by using this proverb that you know they have some bad qualities?
Same as supporting the 'lesser evil'? Also, it's hardly impossible to not be morally superior to these scumbags.

I've been in the Fediverse for a few weeks max and don't even know what's what.
Already got banned from Mastodon and Lemm.ee. Good riddance, might as well be on Reddit with the awful right wing attitude.
Unfortunately also Lemmygrad and Hexbear which I love.
