No, the issue is that Microsoft officially supports only two versions of Windows. And support of the older one is ending next year. They are forcing users that are using perfectly capable hardware to artificially switch to - for many - needless new hardware.

I have options like "Screen Size" and "Screen Adjustment" but they're blacked out / disabled.

 

I'm running stock Linux Mint and when I try to set 16:9 aspect ratio on my 32:9 monitor it stretches the resolution on whole monitor. On Windows it works by putting the screen in the middle of the monitor. I was wondering if something like that is possible on Mint.
