The best way to stop a good guy with a gun is to shoot first (in countries where there's a good chance you might be shot if you're committing a crime)

It's the entire argument in a nutshell yes. A common-sense response to those desires is what separates the countries that don't have much gun crime from yours.

I choose to protect my body by you not having guns.

Edit: I don't, but I think you can see the error in your argument now.

I'm definitely a recent convert. I hate Windows 11 and all the various features it shoves down my throat these days. I bought a steam deck and ended up dabbling in the desktop mode enough to realize the learning process will be mostly fun for me. I'm mostly gaming these days anyway. I don't use the computers I have at home for much more than that.

Wait! I didn't know this. If I use a VPN can I simply download the Euro version? I don't mind paying for it.

Edit: I'm i dumbass. You simply select the location on install. How stupid is that? Why does nobody tell me these things?

Yep. This was me. I followed the android Sync app here. User-created content should not be monetized. Im not going to subscribe to something that's mostly memes, attention-seeking behavior, and bullshit.

I had hated reddit for ages. Many trigger-happy omniscient mods who couldn't admit to a mistake if it swam up their arse and blew a trumpet. I was eventually perma-banned for glorifying violence by making a Star Wars reference about Trump. I can only assume the mod wasn't old enough to remember Star Wars movies.

I had been there from the bright and cheerful early days and watched it become 99.8% trash.

Lemmy has hit the rewind button for me. It kinda sucks that so many people are trying to emulate what modern reddit had become, but it still feels refreshing. With a bit of luck, Lemmy will go in a direction I prefer. It's not that I don't want people to do whatever they want, but i feel like some instances will cater to certain demographics.

Amazing nostalgia. I can't remember how to do it!

This is the one. It's a perfect relaxation show.

I don't think that's WHY it's stigmatised. It had to be stigmatized before that to be applied to selfish people.

It's a disorder that is harmful to others and difficult to understand. For others to cope with it requires navigating a complex network of negative behaviors. Manipulation and lack of empathy are the traits of a psychopath, and none of us want that.

The OP lacks empathy but evidentally desires it from others. If you understand why you need empathy, then you understand why lack of empathy is stigmatised.

Three-ish years. We live in different countries, and covid happened.

The irony of making fun of "leftists" for believing this shit is not lost on "leftists". Most of us don't believe it. However, most Trump supporters absolutely HAVE to believe this exact style of bullshit reporting because Trump wouldn't appeal to anyone WITHOUT them believing similar Fox style propoganda.

I think what's happening is people are angry that they have been consistently correct about their fear of Trump, yet Trumpers pretend we were wrong even when the reality is right in front of you now. Like, literally, all of the reasons we have warned about Trump are coming true.

Every single argument against Trump goes the same way. Trump supporters deny the claim. Then, when it looks like its coming true, they re-frame it with desperate speculation until it actually comes true. Then they pretend that's what they all wanted in the first place. Literally nobody seems to know what he's doing, least of all him! He just makes wild claims about what he's going to do about all the people he hates and lets far right fundamentalist Christians do the driving.

"Haha...the libs are angry about it...we won!...lets keep marching towards the spinning blades patriots!"

I mean, seriously. The lies! So many lies. So many PROVEN right in front of you lies? So many incoherent rants. Threats of violence. Multiple different "genres" of crimes. Venomous hatred against minorities and other human fucking beings. Is it supposed to be some kind of tacitcal political genius against people who don't get it? Why? Why don't any of you ever explain why? Wouldn't it make sense to be comprehensible to liberals too? Is he pretending to be an obnoxious, evil, racist, hateful, demented, bully...or not? He sure does a remarkable impersonation of one. He never breaks the spell!

"I will deliberately make people think I'm a horrific bigot and trick them into thinking im an idiot by using childish insults and nicknames. My supporters will know otherwise because when you become a supporter, I mail you the key to my secrets...and that's why liberals are stupid and my supporters are so smart"

Not much of a tactic is it?
