I've been wondering, since I'm on lemmy.world, whether there is a way to see which instances were defederated and I had no way of knowing even existed from here.

Another question I have is that the dude who replied just now. I could see his comment in my inbox but when opening the thread it's empty (even though it says it has one comment). This also happens with other threads.

I'm on Connect btw.

Is the other comment is appearing for you now?

Ever since Lemmy went to 0.19, there has been occasional time delay in federating content from larger servers. Sometimes federation between lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works does not happen instantly. But since you said you got the message in your inbox, that would indicate that it did already federate. I don't use Connect, it could be something with the app.

Also the other guy gave you the instance list for sh.itjust.works. http://lemmy.world/instances is probably what you're looking for.

But this website is probably the easiest way to do a quick check.

No, it still doesn't. This has been an issue for me since I started using lemmy during the reddit drama. I initially thought it would be due to the influx of new users and all the issues that came with it or a problem with the app that would be ironed out later. But it's unfortunately still the same after months. Thanks for the links though. I never had any idea that lemmy.world defederated that many instances.

That's strange, I would at least try using a different app or web-ui to make sure it's not Connect.

Yeah there's a lot of instances on that list but most Lemmy instances are extremely small. Among the decently sized, active servers, it's mainly just lemmygrad, hexbear, and beehaw that they're not federated with.
