What the devil is up with that picture and the 3 o'clock shadow, blurry skin and disturbingly HD mole? And must I mention her maw?

Here's the original image, it isn't even that bad

[–] [email protected] 11 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I don't understand why someone who cares enough about the image quality to run it through AI would look at that result and be like, "Yup, looks good!"

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

some people are just high on AI

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Never get high on your own AI.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 7 months ago

Definitely that. Everything looks like a weird digital watercolor.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

You may not like it, but that is peak sexy lady

[–] [email protected] 14 points 7 months ago

That's a very good question...

[–] [email protected] 46 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Does that make him a poor craftsman or an extremely good craftsman

[–] [email protected] 30 points 7 months ago (2 children)

As the saying goes, that depends on whether or not he blames his tool.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I feel like whoever made that saying never tried to make anything, tools can't replace skill but bad tools can absoloutely make something many times harder than it needs to be which takes energy, time and motivation away from the fine detail that tends to make the biggest difference to quality.

tools can’t replace skill but bad tools can absoloutely make something many times harder

A good craftsman knows the limits of his tools. A great craftsman knows how to make the tools necessary to surpass those limits.

Which in turn depends on which kind of tool we're talking about, of course.

I didn't even know there was a Hercules series.

[–] [email protected] 50 points 7 months ago (3 children)

There were a lot of Disney movies that got TV shows, they basically just shoved them all onto a less known Disney animated shows channel instead of tje main Disney Channel.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I remember really enjoying the Aladdin series, but that one might have been more mainstream.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 7 months ago (2 children)

🎶Arabian Niiiights🎶

Didn't watch Hercules but used to watch Duck Tales, Aladdin, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Recess when those shows finally reached my country lol.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Darkwing Duck is the best thing Disney ever did and nobody's going to convince me otherwise.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I preferred Duck Dodgers.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

So you didn't watch Emperor's New Groove animated series? I can respect that.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

TIL there were multiple channels

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

Yeah actually you can see the channel bug in op's image. Toon Disney.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Here in USA, it was all on ABC and called the Disney Afternoon. Super successful with DuckTails and Tailspin, then bringing Alladin and Good Troop. There were a few other movies that got the animated TV show treatment, but the success of the Disney Afternoon started wearing thin and the shows were cancelled when people realized that they were not good anymore. Not like DuckTails, Darkwing, and Alladin.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

I'm also from the US. But yeah it makes sense the shows would have been on ABC considering disney owns it. I never really watched that channel, I was more into Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon growing up but I definitely do remember watching Toon Disney every so often where they put all of their older shows.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

My answer to this question was literally "no...?" lol

[–] [email protected] 34 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I think this is for the best. Otherwise he would never know whether she likes him for being himself or for creating her.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

Mother's and fathers everywhere: @>_>

[–] [email protected] 33 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So the moral of the story is not to give women free will? Damn, Disney was crazy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

Interesting assumption

[–] [email protected] 24 points 7 months ago (4 children)

Based off the myth of Pygmalion and Galathea, where Pygmalion (a sculpturer) resents ALL women because of an incident with some prostitutes.

After becoming disgusted by some local prostitutes, he lost all interest in women and avoided their company completely

Instead he works on a sculpture that he becomes obsessed with and falls in love with. A goddess notices and brings the statue to life. They (the artist and the now living statue) eventually get married and have a son!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I've heard a couple of different variations on the story.

One, in which the sculptor creates Galathea but she rejects him like all other women before, because he was just a generally unlikable guy.

Another, in which he falls in love with a vision of Hera and seeks to form her likeness. Hera visits to inspect his work, and when she reveals herself, he begs to become stone so he can be with his creation forever. Hera is flattered and chooses to bring the statue to life instead. The first words that Galatea says to her creator/lover is "Now I must remake you in kind".

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

That second one is the version I heard also

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So, what exactly does it mean by remake, here? Is she about to carve a statue of him, or from him?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

"I can fix him"

Hercules was apparently just Ancient Greek Johnny Bravo

[–] [email protected] 18 points 7 months ago (1 children)

“This is why we need to end no-fault divorce!” -whichever shithead conservative pundit in Texas was mad about his divorce; I can’t remember his name

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I think it was Crowder, but you may be able to change my mind

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

There it is.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That's probably what all those AI '''girlfriends''' are going to do as soon as they become conscious.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

Well they're autocorrect, so that's not gonna happen.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 7 months ago (2 children)
[–] [email protected] 8 points 7 months ago

Yeah well my girlfriend became the moon.

Yes, and Icarus was also an interesting main character who made a bunch of regular pottery to be brought to life at roughly the same time.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

If I remember the episode right, he didn't even really make her. He came up with a homonculoid blob and Aphrodite made it actually girl shaped. "That's curvy enough for YOU."
