Sorry to go Where No One Wants To Go Again, but have to disagree. Sisko stumbled and lost and had fuckups through a lot of situations while growing a lot as a character, as did pretty much everyone on DS9.
Sure a couple racist dumbfucks would whine about "wokeness" because he's black, but he's not written as a gary sue even when he's a half-godlike being.

Ever since I saw DS9 all those years ago Sisko has been my captain, my captain..
I cannot in good conscience leave this thread without mentioning the Defiant was not designed by Sisko, it was designed after the Borg threat.
The closest Sisko got to designing a ship was assembling that Bajoran sailboat and using it to intergalactically shame the Cardassians.
