It was firmly intended to be the final, console-defining, large-scale international PlayStation 1 blockbuster before it gave way to the PS2 – but in the last moment, Sony Interactive cut the game’s marketing budget and scrubbed its international release, condemning it to a small, domestic-only launch in Japan and due to its convoluted code, it became known as a game that was impossible to translate even by the most dedicated fan-translators/rom-hackers. Until just recently.
