Good, but I was hoping for more from Carney here.

Yeah Carney's pretty unequivocal support of this guy was a big blunder and significantly eroded my confidence in him. Fortunately for Carney, he's still the leader I'm most confident in, but that's only because he had such a strong start and because he's up against such uninspiring and unpleasant alternatives. It's not because he's playing his cards particularly well. If this election is going to continue to devolve into picking the least worst candidates, I may yet change my mind.

Yeah, it seems the best I can hope for was that Carney agreed to show support outside while pressuring to drop from within.

I try to keep an open mind until the end, but it would take a lot to shake my vote from Carney in this election.

Totally agree though, it hurt my perception of him.

I want a no nonsense campaign and this overshadowed their keystone housing policy. This should have easily been “we don’t accept that in our party, he’s out” and that’s that.

I know they’re lacking candidates though after all the withdrawals due to Trudeau, but I don’t want my preferred party to win that way.

The conservatives should be ashamed about cancelling someone.

Don't they know Chaing has a wife and kids to feed?

How inconsiderate of them.

Only half /s.

Chaing should have stayed in just to beat the hypocritical conservative.

Probably the best possible result for everyone involved. I'll bet he was heavily pressured from inside the party as well as outside.
