Barack Obama vs Donald Trump for President in 2028?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 day ago

If you ever asked yourself “what would I have done during Hitlers rise to unchallenged power” you are doing it right now.

Step 1: Refuse to leave office

Step 2: Ignore people who complain because they won't do shit about it

Step 3: Profit!

It worked for Maduro in Venezuela, and HitlerPig has even referred to it in the past. America is essentially run on the Honor System, which they have exposed in so many ways, and since they have no honor of any kind, they dont mind ruthlessly, enthusiastically exploiting that loophole.

What if he simply refuses to vacate the White House, and Congress and the DoJ continue to demonstrate their loyalty to him over whoever is elected? Who would forcibly remove him from office?

That's if they a) have an election at all, b) have a free election in which another candidate can win, or c) dont simply rig the election the way they did in 2024.

In fact, IF they allow an election (they'll probably just use Martial Law to suspend elections), HitlerPig will win with 98% of the vote, and claim that the people have chosen to amend the Constitution on their own, without Congress, and presidential term limits have been voted down.

Hey, so all the people who told me they need their guns "to fight tyranny"... They're gearing up, right?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

No, because "tyranny" to them means "things I don't like." They like Trump's tyranny.

It sucks that we all have to live through it, but I feel like the current times in the US are a really interesting test of the sort of limits of democracy. By that I mean, what happens if the majority of the population just willingly elects the worst person they can find, and at the same time every check, balance, rule and tradition that everyone assumed would keep things on the rails just... turn out to be kind of bullshit because nobody is willing to enforce them?

It raises all sorts of weird questions, like at a certain point is it okay to overrule democracy in some way to protect the country and the people, even if the majority seem to want to just run the bus off a cliff? And what about the people who didn't vote for this? Are they expected to just go down with ship or have to leave their home country altogether? An informed and engaged populace is vital to a healthy democracy, but what if enough people are uninformed/propagandized enough that they just willing take down the whole country? Does the rest of the world just let it implode?

I have no real answers to these questions, but I'd love to be studying this whole situation from like 100 years after it's all over.

Nope, Trump is also taking their guns away

It's funny actually (in a bad way)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How do you figure he's taking their guns away? Don't get me wrong, I think that would be nice if he did, I think it might the only thing that will wake them up.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

I remember watching a privacy-advocate video & it was during his first term

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 day ago (6 children)

This is a distraction. What else came out today? I see the FBI disappeared a professor, but Trump doesn't give a shit about that.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

A distraction? Are you for real? This is serious shit too.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes but this doesn't matter until 2028, what they are doing today is more urgent

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe you're new to US elections, but these campaigns start almost immediately after the previous election.

It's an endless fucking nightmare, and unfortunately for us all, this is also urgent.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 hours ago

That's only been true with this dipshit who uses his campaign as a shield from the law, and a self enrichment scheme. Most presidents wait until after the midterms to launch their reelection campaign

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago (5 children)

They didn't disappear him, he disappeared, and they're looking for him.

I would love it if he undermined any potential candidates to replace him, convinced that he would be able to get elected for a third term, only to lose a long drawn out fight over eligibility. Or just die. It would be a wonderful irony to have the Republicans scramble for a last minute replacement candidate because their octogenarian incumbent refused to back down.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Trump is NOT making it to January 2029

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

thiel and yarvin will, though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Thiel is a bitch who had an on air panic attack when he heard a ceo got assassinated in nyc

And yarvin is a spineless bitch who only has balls to preach his bullshit to idiotic billionaires behind the scenes

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Henry Kissenger lived to 100 and Carl Sagan died at 62 from cancer. I'm not in anyway religious or superstitious, but given how unfair things can be sometimes I'm not convinced the high heel wearing, pants shitting, Nazi loving sociopath is going to die soon. He somehow survived covid despite having so many risk factors.

I won't be mad if he does, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Also fuck Elon Cuck.

How about fighting people of the USA? How can you all be so numb in the face of fascism? Stop with this democratic party bs, they have never acted in your interests and they never will, they are all bought. Do something, anything.

If there is a time to take back what's yours it's now, if not, your children or/and the children of your fellow countrymen will become slaves, if lucky, if they are queer, or something the "government" doesn't like they will end up either dead or they will kill themselves, it's that simple.

I cannot grasp how this country can be so weak in front of a geriatric manchild that keeps on soiling himself and spitting in his constituents' faces.

You can keep on deluding yourself with the habitual: "meh we protest", "meh medias", "meh bernie sanders and aoc got our backs", "meh judges and military won’t follow illegal orders" and all this wishful thinking.

In the eyes of the world, you are the most pitiful and pathetic "developed" country that has ever walked on this planet.

do something wtf

edit: Bring on the votes down, it won’t change the reality you are facing.

He saw that ukraine had to cancel elections because of the war and will do the same.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

It was his goal well before Zelensky, I mean he tried a coup d’etat in 2020 and slept with a mein kampf on his night table.
