Summary

Five Republican Minnesota state senators plan to introduce a bill classifying "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (TDS) as a mental illness, defining it as "acute paranoia" about Trump's presidency.

The bill argues TDS causes hysteria, verbal hostility, and aggression toward Trump supporters.

Critics argue this represents a dangerous politicization of mental health diagnoses that could suppress political expression.

The bill will be read Monday before the Minnesota Senate Health and Human Services Committee, where Democrats hold a narrow majority.

And this is exactly why those "red flag" laws are a bad idea.

For example, the state can determine anyone who hates Trump is not able to procure a firearm....

Won't tds being a diagnosable mental health condition make those exhibiting it a protected class?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Yeah, if the rule of law meant anything. It doesn't anymore.

Is this some kind of stunt? Like they know it's not going anywhere but they can read their witty bill into the record for giggles. What an embarrassment. Who votes for these toddlers?

It’s to begin normalizing the idea of locking up dissenters…

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 day ago

Just out of curiosity, do you want to hold the trials after the shit burns down in Nuremberg like the last ones, or do you want to do that somewhere in the US?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

So that shit won’t be covered by insurance either, so here we are right back at square one, you illiterate fucks

This just in: 99% of the world’s population suffers from Trump derangement syndrome.

The other 1% has actual certifiable psychological issues.

Being a Trump supporter is a mental illness

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

That's an insult to mental illness.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago

Dictators outlaw dissent.

Would it be so hard to put Minnesota in the title? (Not op, the publisher) (But also op)

It's a social construct. Much of the population wont understand due to lacking education and deficient knowledge base. Hopefully there will be further explanations for laymen in the future DSM5.
