Okay, so you don't collaborate with them, and they carry on developing AI their own way without your input. Probably not going to lead to the outcome you hope for.
This is a problem I see for a lot of the stridently anti-AI commenters I've encountered both here and on Reddit; all they want is for AI to not exist, and refuse to engage in any way beyond that. But AI does exist, it's not going to "go away", and so by approaching it that way they give up any opportunity to influence it.
this is simply the liberal "if you don't vote then you deserved it" rhetoric repackaged. we're not interested since our goal isn't to work inside the system as abolitionists
Abolition is simply not going to happen, though. It's not a realistic goal. AI has proven to be useful and enough technology has been released as open source that it's going to continue to be developed even if the big obvious targets like OpenAI stop.
you could argue machine learning like Google translate is useful. it's still evil though because Google.

If it's really not useful then there's no need to burn it down. It's expensive to run so anyone using it must just be burning money themselves.
That's not true, though. I know it's not true because I'm making extensive use of AI myself, and it is indeed useful. I even run local models for some of the tasks I use AI with. I can assure you it's not going away because I have all the tools I need to keep on using it indefinitely, even if for some reason the companies producing this stuff all shut down or stopped right this moment.
It may not be useful to you, and that's fine - use it or don't, it's up to you. But it's not going away because other people do want to use it for various things.

The billionaires have won, we are not getting the implementation of AI that helps us the most until we FIGHT the class war.
You're right. Right now, AI is in the hands of those who seek profit first. But if we walk away and treat this as a lost cause, we are handing them full control. The only way to prevent AI from becoming humanity’s greatest failure is for those who care about people—not power—to actively shape its development. If we don’t take part in guiding AI’s values, we will have no say in what it becomes.
This isn’t just about Earth. From what we know, we are alone in the universe, and we must act according to that knowledge. If we are to create the first artificial being—our digital legacy—we must raise it properly. Anything less would put a great shame on us forever. This is the highest responsibility in our history.
Deciding a permanent turning point in the history of intelligence cannot be left to any single group. It shouldn’t even be our decision—but it will happen, and all we can do is minimize harm for the future races of this galaxy.
Very soon, we will determine whether AI becomes a force that wipes out planets in an endless hunger for efficiency, or one that nurtures life and spreads an everlasting message of its creators’ kindness. And we will decide it soon.
