Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

I live here, we just call it the Gulf Coast.

The theory that I heard that made the most sense is that he thinks by renaming it he can circumvent the Biden ban on new oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
If that's actually true that's fucking hilarious and really depressing that our legal system could theoretically be worked around so comically. That's like Scooby Doo levels of bullshit.
Why would he need to do this? We have a Republican president, congress, and house of reps. Plus the SCOTUS is on his side.
Seems they just need to write up a quick retraction of that and just pass it.

Personally I think things like this help let me know how much of a dumbass someone is. If I hear someone call it that, I know not to trust any information that ever comes out of their mouth again because they are an absolute dumbass.

What, is he goanna rename NewMexico to NewAmerica? Cuz that is something he could try. Maybe California should be now called Smokyfirefornia? Cali is from "caliente" or hot. @Foni @MicroWave This could be turned into a MAGA loyalty test for the press. When reporters and weather reports refer to the Gulf, they will have to choose between the long-established name or the one that pleases MAGA.
Considering how craven the USA press has been, I think they'll obey in advance and start calling it Gulf of America, but I think most of the foreign press will not.
I live here. The weather people never say 'Gulf of Mexico', they just say Gulf Coast.
