Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

On brand for Musk. Take it over, rebrand it, pretend you made it.
No wonder him and donvict are pals. That's been donvict's entire life, too.
For shits and giggles decided to take a look at the site
there's ASCII art in the source
It's changed a few times today too.
It was this:
They then replaced the middle image with: (I forgot to grab a screenshot at the time, grabbed this from google images)
Now the page shows just:
The ASCII art is also no longer in the page source as of writing.
/edit:
Just noticed, all the images on the page are hosted by 'imagedelivery.net' and there's several references to x.com
Wow. It's all I have to say
I believe the colloquial phrase is, "cringe AF."
He's trying SO HARD to be hip and cool with the kids, and is just failing miserably.
Gotta give it to musk. Can't be easy to be simultaneously the most successful man in the world and the biggest loser. He truly is the alpha and the omega.
So this is how they get around needing Congress to establish a new department.
modernizing federal IT
This also might be how they permanently compromise the FEC and voting machines for future elections; considering Trump already mentioned Elon helped with "those vote counting computers".
People keep quoting that one like he didn't also say "we rigged it and won Pennsylvania" right before it
What an excellent way to know I'm likely to be amongst the first on the chopping block (federal IT). And what a great thing to start making cuts to, the people likely keeping everyones digital information secure
Any bets on how long it will be until we see the digital equivalent of 9/11?
Im putting money on them fucking up the payroll system and screwing every federal employee out of a pay cheque. Bonus if they refuse to do backpay.
Already happened with our telecoms and treasury being hacked. It was barely news for 1 day and now everyone has forgotten.
Like the whole right wing pundits paid millions by Russia thing didn't even make it into the news cycle.
And people are still using sms
I bet the majority of consumer level MFA.
That and banking apps for some reason
We were hacked by our new friends the Chinese.
Thanks, Obama.
Okay so the government’s software definitely does need updated.
But I’m not sure Musk is the right guy for the job.
I'm sure musk is not the right guy for the job
He is if the goal is privatization and enriching oligarchs...
Looking forward to the swearing in at the Four Seasons.
Spirit Halloween energy 🎃
I was convinced I was reading a satirical headline at first.
Wait, it is not?
Every headline satire, cuz we live in a fucking South Park episode.
Doesn’t matter anymore. You could ask the same about reality.
I don’t want Elon must choosing what to install on government computers.
Thanks, Obama.
