I walked 2 miles from work in a college town when it was -20F in shorts. I'll be damned if I willingly ever wear pants.

We can't see his feet, but there's a 99% chance he's wearing a pair of filthy sandals with way too many miles on them.

I still remember in high school when it was literally snowing outside, and some american kid came in wearing flip-flops and shorts. Legend

How dare you.

My three pairs of ten year old Rainbows are lovingly worn-in

My one pair is perfectly molded to my feet at this point, they're so comfortable.

Nah man, this is a picture of me. He’s wearing Skechers Slip-Ins, which recently replaced his New Balance sneakers.

White Crocs with brown/black stains all over

What a brave martyr. We must honor his sacrifice and principles.

Not all heros wear pants

I'm the opposite. No matter how hot it is, I'm wearing full-length jeans. It's never bothered me, and I've had significantly fewer instances of finding ticks on my body compared to my friends.

Genuine question, what are you doing on a regular basis where you would expect to get ticks on you while wearing jeans? Are you a pokemon trainer walking through tall grass all day?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Hiking and fishing, mostly. It doesn't take much to get a tick. If they get near my feet they can latch onto my ankle if I don't catch them soon enough.

Ok yeah fair. I live in tick country as well so any time you go in ankle high grass you will likely get ticks. I mostly just put on my outdoor pants or bug spray if I expect to do so.

Wearing long sleeve shirt though....

If you live close enough to one of the poles there are two times a year where it is annoyingly cold in the morning and slovenly warm in the afternoon. A half-n-half strat of shorts and long sleeve especially if being active is ideal.

Shorts & Hoody weather is the best weather!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 hours ago

It's easier to layer tops than bottoms. So shorts with short sleeves covered with a button up long sleeve can be surprisingly practical even though it feels silly. Open the button up when it starts to get a bit warm, and remove it entirely when active in the sun. Large diurnal temperature swings can mean committing some fashion faux pas.

Just gotta deal with the hypothermia in the morning and go short-n-short.

If only he knew he could have worn long pants as long as he took off his shirt first. That could have saved his life.

My wife hates the winter shorts I wear around the house.
