Summary

On the War Room podcast, right-wing hosts Natalie Winters and Steve Bannon discussed plans for MAGA supporters to act as “shock troops on the streets” to support Trump’s proposed mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.

Winters argued for a broad removal of immigrants beyond just criminals, framing it as essential to the MAGA agenda.

Bannon praised her view and suggested Trump should target the estimated 11-15 million migrants who entered during Biden’s term.

Both hosts emphasized mobilizing their audience to back this agenda both in public and within the administration.

Can we call them nazis now?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What if we need to court them next election?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Those precious, sweet baby potential democrats.

[–] [email protected] 59 points 4 days ago

No, it might hurt their feefees while they're dragging immigrants out to the streets and lynching them

[–] [email protected] 46 points 4 days ago

Yes. We could call them Nazis before, but we can call them Nazis now, too.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 4 days ago

Always could.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Always could, but remember - Tuckems told us that if the qons went full fascist, it's because the liberals made them do it.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not the demons? Was the demon that mauled him a liberal demon?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

I mean yeah obvs.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You can call them little Nazis, as a treat.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Little Nazis is a name reserved for those who turn a blind eye. "It's ok for me.. now." "I felt safer." "They don't care about me or my family." "They buy my goods."

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago

Nazis Piqueno

[–] [email protected] 104 points 4 days ago (8 children)

Remember those chuds in a pickup truck who basically hunted down and murdered a black jogger under the suspicion he was up to no good?

Yeah, get ready for that happening every other day.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Hate crimes went up 20% during Trump's last term. Hate crime related murders were at a 28-year high.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

yeah I'm gay and I tried telling my family we should leave, at least to a more blue state, and they brushed me off; and indeed all I had to say was

"ok, well, when I'm the victim of a hate crime I want you to know I told you so. The German 'undesirables' who survived Nazi Germany were the ones who saw the writing on the wall and got the fuck out early while they could. The ones who who wanted to stick around and wait to see how bad it got, they were lead to the gas chambers. After they had their property seized and were brutalized for years at the hands of their government + any other German citizen who wanted to 'do their part'."

nothing else I can do but wait, so... hopefully it's quick. I've resisted getting a gun all this time because I struggle with depression, but there may come a point in the near future where a bullet will be a mercy, so I suppose it doesn't really matter.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I feel for you. I'm a German American dude married into a family of Salvadoreños and we have illegals in our circle of friends/family. Very few of my family members are taking this seriously or treating it with the level of concern it deserves. People just don't have the capacity to understand unmitigated corruption and evil. Most people have something that stops them from being shitlords, whether it's their god, some sort of moral compass, a desire to be liked by others, or whatever. Trump and company don't have that at all. It's pure evil and corruption to the core. It will not be pretty when these two groups and their goals clash.

I hope you can eventually find your way to a blue state, but I'm honestly not even sure that's enough when they're planning on sending national guardsmen from red states into blue states to do their bidding. Couple that with the fact that elections are effectively over in this country and it paints a horrifying picture for the country and the rest of the world.

I've had thoughts about checking out that I can't share with family or really even online for the sake of triggering others and for fear of giving the thoughts credibility in my mind. I have a wife and two young kids that depend on me, so I suppose I will do my best. Their German passports arrive this week and we leave shortly before inauguration day.

Trump's tariffs will wreck Europe's economy. Refugees from Ukraine will come pouring in. AfD will continue to make gains in Germany. CDU will probably win the snap elections that are coming after Scholz loses his vote of confidence. They'll eventually work with AfD as voter pressure ramps up and thus give AfD credibility in the coming years.

I'd still take my chances with Germany rather than stay within the USA.

I feel the same way about gun ownership. I've avoided it as I have depression. Previously, it was a pretty easy decision.

The rise of fascism has changed the calculus for me. It may be time to arm myself.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago (2 children)

What are they doing on the days in between?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They'll only be able to afford running the truck every other day. Remember, most of the people doing these sorts of things will be poor, uneducated, and easily duped into fighting other poor people. When their truck costs an arm and a dick to fill up, and their grocery bill goes up by 50%, and all their imported goods go through the roof too; you can't just have a pogrom every day! You gotta space that shit out, that's just economics.

If the DNC was thinking ahead even the slightest bit, they'd be planning to do everything they can to publicize the impact Trump's policies are having in real-time. Getting messaging out to everyone who is negatively impacted every time Trump does something, making sure they understand exactly what is happening, and why, would be a lot more effective than their usual strategy of doing nothing until a few months before an election then trying to convince people who've been told for years that democrats are the devil that Trump has been hurting them.

Contact these people personally. "Hi - Trump's policies mean you will no longer be covered by the ACA; here's some information on other, far worse and more expensive, insurance options. This is how much this is likely to cost you. Please contact your representative if you find this to be distressing."

Time to keep our powder dry. Nixon in '72 and Reagan in '84 both won bigger victories than Trump did last week, but both were brought low within 2 years. Nixon was out of a job. So never lose hope!

[–] [email protected] 30 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I don't think 72 and 84 are good comparisons. By 86, Reagan was well into dementia. Nixon resigned before being impeached or criminally charged.

Trump's accelerating personality disorder will prevent him from resigning. He'll just lash out with greater and greater misplaced vengeance.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If his lashing starts to threaten Republicans, they might consider ousting him before he can start doing things they consider to be real damage. We can hope.

Shock troops would probably have to break lots of windows. Those shock troops may also be operating at night for the element of surprise. There should be a name for that. Night of broken glass perhaps? How about a loanword from another language to shorten that, like Kristallnacht?

Been saying for years now: If you refuse to arm and train, so be it on your head when the local Committee for Public Safety comes knocking.

Trump's not even in office and they're already saying it out loud. How the hell else you think they'll get enough federal and local officers to carry out this plan?! None of this works without extralegal, and local, foot soldiers. I've heard these guys talk, they're only waiting on Trump's permission and instructions.

And forget the fat-boy memes, these guys are young, fit, trained and armed.

First it will be light brown people, and liberals will clutch their pearls and weep and cry. Then it'll be the trans people, then the homosexuals, then the outspoken liberals, then the next "undesirable" group. They'll be setting up camps within the year to hold the overflow of illegals, then the purpose of those camps will morph into holding all sorts of people.

And if people do shoot at Red Shirts invading their homes? Expect sweeping anti-gun legislation with permits required for the select few. So to all you assholes who laughed at the 2A protecting us from the government? Get fucking bent. Hell, do as they ask, because you won't have a choice. It's for your "safety".

[–] [email protected] 23 points 4 days ago

This is why as a minority and progressive that believe in gun control still advocate that we responsibly exercise our right to bear arms.

These assholes are asking for their members to kill minorities here, you don't use the term "shock troops" without the expectation of violence, especially when they know full well their members are violence loving assholes who will hurt whoever they all to.

Especially Asian Americans, don't think for a second that being a 'model minority' is going to save your asses from this. This going to be a Niemoller situation. They're already a huge anti Asian sentiment within that party and the people who these guys are taking about also can't tell the difference between a Mexican and a Asian, cripes can't tell you how many times I've legitimately been and that in Missouri. And of they actual mass deport people, the economy tanks because of it, they're going to be looking for their next scapegoat.

Protect yourselves guys because second count when the police are full of racists.

So, einsatzgruppen. Got it.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Minus the fact that most Germans did not have weapons in the Weimarer Republic

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago

Only real question is do they go with matching, Brown, Black, or Silver shirts

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 days ago

Huh, when the left is doing anything activist, the qons - and the "liberal media" - ask questions that basically boil down to: "don't they have jobs?"

Meanwhile the qons and the "liberal media" don't seem to ask questions about the J6 insurrectionists, and I doubt they'll ask how qons have so much free time on their hands to be shock troops - don't these motherfuckers WORK?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 days ago

Remember, scared immigrants don't ask for more rights education and pay raise!

It's not about you!

Your job stays overseas.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 days ago

:brown shirts:

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 days ago

Shock troops what a novel concept.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 days ago (11 children)

I look forward to seeing the gravy seals put their urban prowess to the test here on the streets of Baltimore.

Hello Kristallnacht my old friend, I've come to talk with you again...

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago

Now the hope is that they are too incompetent to be effective fascists.
