I think I'm going to have to stop reading these. They are just so depressing.
TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry or fascism. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable, neither is supporting people who actively want to kill those groups. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.
Fun will now commence.

I read a lot of these. Here's my hot take: It's not real. It's not canon. This never happened to Miles O'Brien and never will.
For me, personally, that's enough to let me enjoy the absurd comedy.
I enjoy it here and there. My big problem is that it's the same joke almost every time.
It's a fictional version of a fictional person. I'm sort of amused when people get upset about it.
I just wish they were better quality
Remember, this is only strip #35 and he's done over 200. They improve over time.
Can we skip to the good ones then, because so far they've all been, ha ha, he's getting cheated on
When the joke is consistently "no one likes you and someone else is having sex with your wife and fathering your child", it stops feeling like a joke and starts seeming like a cuckold's idle fantasies.
O'Brien was a bad ass, he fought those spoon heads. This is just propaganda.
The first 5 panels are nice
Just a reminder that the one time Worf operated the transporter Picard and Dr Crusher got transported straight to an enemy jail. No wonder O'Brien had to work long hours.
If we take what is shown on DS9 at face value without imagining any other dialog, for every 20 times Miles is going on Holodeck adventures with Julian, he spends one time going on a picnic with his daughter.
And then there's the baby he had with Keiko and also Kira who he seems to ignore most of the time.
Wait! I just noticed that Molly was born in 2368 and O'Brien transferred to DS9 in 2369.
Molly is quite precocious to be talking like that at less than a year old.
Worf's son Alexander was born in 2366 and was fighting in the Dominion war by 2374, at 8 years old, so I think he has her beat on precociousness.
That's a Klingon thing that's been mentioned a couple of times.
It was more of a "we forgot all about Worf's son, but Brian Bonsall is too young" thing.
It wasn't a complete retcon. In TOS, Klingons were supposed to live only 30-40 years.
I don't remember that ever being said in TOS.
It was apparently in the TOS Bible:

When are they changing the name to "Keiko and Riker are fucking"?
I really don't like the addition of cuckoldry into the story line. Twice now it comes up? Fuck that. Why not just name him Jesus? The storyline has about as much to do with Jesus as O'Brien.
Originally the joke was funny because of the thought of having someone in charge of staring at the transporter room all day was an absurd realization about the Trek universe. But he was a beloved character in every way.
This week: the writer's barely disguised fetish!
Maybe the author is British and really just wants all replicators to only serve O'Brian diseased potatoes but understands that that would be too on the nose.
